Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda Unveils Second Twitch-Created Album, Dropped Frames Vol. 2: Stream
Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has unveiled a second album that he created with input from fans on Twitch. Dropped Frames Vol. 2 comes just three weeks after the release of Vol. 1. As previously reported, Dropped Frames Vol. 1 featured Shinoda collaborating with his fans on Twitch. In fact, one of the songs, “Open Door”, incorporated vocals from seven of his Twitch followers. Dropped Frames Vol. 2, released today (July 31st), is a mostly instrumental effort. Korn Unveil Cover of Charlie Daniels’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” Featuring Yelawolf: Stream
Korn have unleashed a cover of the Charlie Daniels classic “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, featuring guest vocals from rapper Yelawolf. Proceeds from the song will benefit the nonprofit organization Awakening Youth. The track was recorded during the sessions for Korn’s 2019 album, The Nothing, but sees its release less than a month after the passing of Charlie Daniels himself. The country music and Southern rock legend died July 6th at the age of 83 after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. Korn’s version of the song features frontman Jonathan Davis trading verses with Yelawolf, as dueling guitar leads by Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer offer a distorted take on the original track’s fiddle segments. According to Nielsen SoundScan data, only 600 copies of Trapt’s Shadow Work were sold in the first week of its release. The song is the latest single from Grey Daze’s upcoming album, Amends, which arrives on June 26th after being delayed due to the pandemic. Prior to his death in 2017, Bennington had approached his old bandmates about re-recording their old songs. Faith No More and Korn Co-Headlining US Tour Officially Canceled Due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Faith No More and Korn have officially canceled their co-headlining U.S. tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The outing would have marked Faith No More’s first US tour in five years. The late-summer tour was scheduled to kick off August 7th in Denver, and run through a September 17th show in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Daron Malakian’s Scars on Broadway, Helmet, Spotlights, and ’68 were set to support various dates. The tour is being outright canceled, and will not be postponed or rescheduled. A statement from Faith No More’s Facebook reads, “The Faith No More & Korn Summer Tour will unfortunately no longer be taking place.
