Paul Verhoeven Says James Bond Franchise Is “Scared of Sex”

If there’s one thing we know about Paul Verhoeven, it’s that he’s certainly not shy of putting sex at the center of his films. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Basic Instinct and Showgirls director criticized No Time to Die, the latest film in the James Bond franchise, for scrapping any sex scenes involving 007 himself. While 2006’s Casino Royale — which marked Daniel Craig’s first portrayal as Bond — didn’t include any explicitly sexual content, Verhoeven commended the film for at least alluding to some more salacious behavior. Now, he says, Hollywood blockbusters are “scared of sex.” “Sex is the essence of existence!” Verhoeven said. “There was always sex in Bond! They did not show a breast, or whatever. But they had some sex.” Advertisement Related Video As Craig ret...

2022 Oscars: Billie Eilish and FINNEAS Perform “No Time to Die”

Now, here’s a performance to die for: Billie Eilish took the stage at the 2022 Academy Awards — alongside her brother and collaborator FINNEAS — to sing “No Time to Die,” her Oscar-winning James Bond theme. The performance followed a 60th anniversary tribute to Bond held earlier in the evening. FINNEAS accompanied his sister on piano, singing backup vocals as she commanded the stage in a dramatic black blouse and trousers. As she crooned the delicate melody, a laser light show cut through the air around here, and a full orchestra swelled to meet the moment. Watch Eilish’s performance below, and check out the full winner’s list here. From the film of the same name, “No Time to Die” went on to win Best Original Song this year (it’s also accumulated trophies at the Golden Globes, Cr...

Ana de Armas Channels Former Bond Girl Barbara Bach With Her Sexy Gown at the No Time to Die Premiere

Ana de Armas was one of the many celebrities who wowed us with their red carpet fashion at the world premiere of No Time to Die, which was held at Royal Albert Hall in London last night. From shimmering sequined gowns to luxe velvet tuxedo jackets, it was clear the stars were excited to get dressed up for the occasion — and to pay homage to the glamour of the James Bond franchise. De Armas, however, who wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown, also seemed to want to pay homage to the Bond girls who came before her with her sartorial selection for the night. De Armas’s black Louis Vuitton dress featured a plunging neckline, a thigh-high slit, and embellished straps. And whilst many of her fellow Bond girls have worn slinky black dresses in the films, this dress seemed to evoke one Bond girl ...

James Bond Film No Time to Die Pushed Back Until 2021

Looks like James Bond has no time to be released: No Time to Die has been delayed once again, and is now scheduled for April 2nd, 2021. Daniel Craig’s fifth and final mission as 007 was originally expected to premiere in the US on April 10th. Like most things in entertainment, it was delayed in the early days of the pandemic, setting a new date of November 20th. However, with major markets like Los Angeles and New York still in various stages of lockdown, and many European areas experiencing a “second wave” of increased infection rates, MGM has postponed the movie once again. The news is, sadly, not at all surprising. Bond is a huge moneymaker abroad, with 72.6% of the $1.111 billion gross for the last entry in the series, 2015’s Spectre, coming from the global box office. It makes se...
