President Buhari departs Abuja for London

President Muhammadu Buhari has departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja for the United Kingdom, where he will meet his doctor for a routine medical check-up. Buhari, 78, embarked on the journey after meeting the nation’s security chiefs earlier today. The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, FCT Minister Mohammed Musa Bello, media aides Femi Adesina, Garba Shehu, and other dignitaries accompanied him to the airport. Saudi Arabia: Nigerian to evacuate 420 nationals

The Federal Government, has concluded plans to evacuate another set of 420 Nigerians from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. An official of the Crises Monitoring and Public Communications Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, disclosed the planned evacuation to newsmen in Abuja. The 420 Nigerians, the third batch to be returned to the country in a space of one week, are expected to arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 10:30am today (Wednesday) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Nigeria completes flight simulation exercise ahead of resumption

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has conducted simulation exercise at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja to test all the protocols designed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at the Airport ahead of flight resumption. The simulation exercise which began around 8am saw passengers go through all the protocols before boarding the Aero Contractor flight at about 11:20am. The flight was operated on a B737 marked NG110 with 51 passengers on board. The Nigerian airports have been shut down in excess of three months to avert the spread of the COVID-19 across the country. Nigeria evacuates 167 nationals from South Africa

The federal government has evacuated 167 Nigerians from South Africa and are now en route to Nigeria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, said.
