Lenny Kravitz, Cher and More Cover Oasis’ ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’

Cher, Lenny Kravitz and numerous additional stars came together to cover Oasis’ “Stop Crying Your Heart Out,” off the band’s 2002 LP, Heathen Chemistry. The new single was put together to “raise vital funds to help support children and young people across the UK facing disadvantage, at a time when they need it most.” Proceeds from the single will go to BBC Children in Need. “I felt very emotional recording this song, it was very important to me,” Cher said in a release. Cedric Gervais is gearing up for one of his biggest collaborations to date. Later this month, he and rising talent Franklin will be teaming up with Nile Rodgers, founder of iconic disco group CHIC, for a remix of the band’s 1978 classic “Everybody Dance.” Over the weekend, Gervais shared a teaser video announcing the single and its release date.  While details are scarce, the simulated text messages in the teaser video confirm that Rodgers will be re-recording his beloved guitar melodies for the remix. The Abbot of the Shaolin Swordsmen sold half of his classic catalog to Hipgnosis Records, joining other artists and producers by placing their catalog into the hands of the British music publishing company. Variety reports that RZA, born Robert Diggs, sold half of his copyright interest and writers share to Hipgnosis, which specializes in protecting and promoting the value of popular music as the industry pivots primarily towards the streaming market.
