Ebonyi coronavirus cases rise to 22 as four patients discharged

Four more COVID-19 patients in Ebonyi state were on Sunday discharged from the state isolation centre at Unity Square, Abakaliki, the state capital, bringing the total number of discharged patients in the pandemic to six. Meanwhile, the number of cases have risen from 13 to 22 in the state. A team from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) witnessed the discharge of the four patients. Dr. Majinger Ibeneme, Pillar Head, Case Management of the NCDC in the state, said all the patients at the isolation centre were stable. Abike Dabiri-Erewa: Communications minister used armed men to evict NIDCOM staff

The Chairman, Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has disclosed that over 40 office equipment, workstations and files belonging to NIDCOM staff were still locked up at the Nigeria Communications Commission building, four months after the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Mr Isa Pantami, allegedly ordered the eviction of the diaspora commission. She stated that Pantami used armed security men, including policemen to eject NIDCOM from the offices it was given in the NCC building located at Mbora District, on the Airport Road, Jabi, Abuja. Speaker of Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Mr Aniekan Bassey, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari, for signing into law Executive Order No. 10, of 2020. The law is for the implementation of Financial Autonomy of State Legislature and State Judiciary. Britain announces more flights to evacuate nationals from Nigeria

The British government has announced three more charter flights for more hundreds of its citizens set to return home from Nigeria. Already, more than 1,700 British travellers had been evacuated out of Nigeria back to the UK on special charter flights between April and May from Lagos and Abuja airports. Details of the coming new flights include the charter flight slated for Friday 29 May from Lagos to London. Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has assured Katsina State residents that the Nigeria Air force ‘Operation Harbin Daji’ against bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers and armed robbers would be different. Oyo joint security outfit nabs seven armed robbers

The Oyo State joint security outfit, Operation Burst, has apprehended seven suspected members of an armed robbery gang in Ibadan. The Director-General of the outfit, Col. The Police Command in Borno has announced restriction on vehicular movement in Maiduguri metropolis during the Eid-el-Fitr prayers.
