Governor AbdulRazaq appoints Kayode Aremu as Kwara Radio chief

Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has appointed the General Manager of Sobi FM, Ilorin, Mr Kayode Aremu, as the new General Manager of Kwara Radio. The governor announced the appointment of Aremu in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, on Friday in Ilorin. According to Ajakaye, the appointment of Aremu, who hails from Ilorin, took immediate effect. Togo pay tribute to Edem Koudagba after unexpected death

The Togolese Football Federation have paid tribute to ASC Kara striker Kossi Edem Koudagba following his death at the age of 24 on Thursday. Akwa Ibom governor appoints commissioner as chief of staff

Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom has appointed Mr Ephraim Inyang-eyen, the state’s Commissioner of Works, as his Chief of Staff (CoF). Emmanuel had not appointed a chief of staff since he assumed office as governor in 2015. The Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Udoh, announced the appointment in a statement made available to newsmen in Uyo on Friday. According to the commissioner, the appointment takes immediate effect. Udoh added that Inyang-eyen would continue to supervise the ministry of works until a new substantive commissioner was appointed. “We congratulate the commissioner for works on his new appointment and wish him success in the discharge of duties in his new office,” Udoh said. President Buhari authorises N19.67 billion for completion of East-West road

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate release of N19.67 billion to ramp up efforts in completing sections I-IV of the East-West Road project by 2021. The presidential directive was part of efforts to address infrastructure deficit in the Niger Delta region and boost its economy. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Monday slammed the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) for not standing up for embattled Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki. The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, says the state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) is resuming its investigation of allegations of fraud against the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, after the court threw out suits challenging the process. The commission is investigating Sanusi over an alleged N2.2 billion land racketeering in Gandun Sarki area of Kano. Other Kano Emirate Council members being investigated over the matter are Sarki Ibrahim, the Makaman of Kano, and Shehu Dankadai, the Sarkin Shanun Kano. HURIWA drags President Buhari to court over federal character principle

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has instituted a legal action against President Muhammadu Buhari. HURIWA explained that the suit was instituted against Buhari at an Abuja Federal High Court due to violations of the Federal Character Principle as provided for in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. A statement by HURIWA’s National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media Affairs Director, Miss Zainab Yusuf disclosed that the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/534/2020 was filed on May 27, 2020.
