It looks like NGHTMRE and Smokepurpp are on the verge of dropping an epic collaboration. Over the weekend, NGHTMRE performed at STORY Miami and brought up the famed “Audi” rapper for part of his set. The next day, he posted a few photos from the show with a not-so-subtle hint that a new song is on the way. “NGHTMRE x Smokepurpp at STORY Miami last night,” the caption reads. “We got a mf heater incoming.” Unfortunately, NGHTMRE stopped short of divulging any more information about the collab, including a title or release date. But considering NGHTMRE’s bold message, the track could be released any day now. Check out NGHTMRE’s teaser below. Earlier this year, the organizers of Ottawa’s renowned Escapade music festival decided that the event’s rescheduled dates in mid-June 2021 were too soon to host a safe event, thus determining a fall postponement would be the best course of action. Initially, the newly slated dates were September 3rd to 5th, offering a three-day experience. However, due to “ongoing changes and COVID restrictions,” Escapade ultimately scrapped its Friday launch and pushed it one day, truncating the fest to just September 4th and 5th. Despite the change, there is still much to celebrate for fans of Escapade thanks to its massive lineup. While the full bill is yet to be released, so far it includes The Chainsmokers, ILLENIUM, Jauz, and Claude Vonstroke, among others. You...
Electronic artists have the innate ability to hype people up with their music. Just ask American beach volleyball player April Ross, the 2012 Olympic silver medalist and 2016 bronze medalist listening to EDM to fuel her quest for gold at the Tokyo Olympics. Ross recently shared the artists and tracks which pump her up to compete—and it’s not for the faint of heart. Some of her go-to artists include Kill the Noise, Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, Excision, NGHTMRE, Kygo, and Avicii, As a true testament to her level of EDM fandom, she has curated her own Olympic playlists for the last five years, incorporating songs like “Wake Me Up” by Avicii, “The Drop” by Bro Safari, and “Birdz” by Wuki and Smokepurpp. “Something about...
Just over two weeks ago ILLENIUM shook the dance music world with the release of his highly anticipated fourth album, Fallen Embers. While that in and of itself was a lot for his fans to process, they’ve now been gifted a high-profile remix from NGHTMRE, who took on ILLENIUM’s collaboration with Matt Maeson, “Heavenly Side.” While ILLENIUM’s original is much more stripped back with a heavy emphasis on guitar and Maeson’s vocals, NGHTMRE’s rendition represents a significant departure. Bright keys welcome listeners in before heavily processed vocals give way to an explosion of colorful, bright synths that fill the air with a euphoric thwack. You can listen to NGHTMRE’s remix of “Heavenly Side” here and listen below. R...
NGHTMRE has returned with an anthemic new single, partnering up with budding hip-hop artist Yung Pinch for a new summer banger called “Scars,” out now via Ultra Records. Although NGHTMRE is most known for his hard-hitting trap and emotive future bass, the LA-based producer has been writing hip-hop beats for some time, and with “Scars” we finally get to see some come to fruition. “I’ve been making a good bit of hip-hop recently, but nothing too melodic!” NGHTMRE shared in a press release. “I was excited to try my hand in some cool melodic hip-hop vibes. Yung Pinch did such a good job with the vocal, and I tried to keep the vibe going for the drop/hook. I hope everyone loves this as much as we do!! It’s already been s...
NGHTMRE is getting ready to debut one of the most unique livestreams of the year. Midway through next week he will be airing a performance with Ghastly and Wavedash. While that’s an awesome lineup, you may be asking yourself, “What’s so special about three sets from these artists?” Well, they’re boardsliding their way into the world of professional skateboarding and performing while a number of skaters dazzle with tricks during their sets. They didn’t recruit just any skaters for the Insomniac-powered event, dubbed The Highlands. They’ve teamed up with the sport’s most notable figure, Tony Hawk, who will be joined on the ramp by NGHTMRE’s longtime friend and gold medalist Elliot Sloan, as well as Tom Schaar, Clay Kreiner, an...
Last summer the organizers of Electric Zoo declared they are “going hard in 2021 with BIG shows and NEW experiences,” announcing a destination event in Cancún from April 7th to 11th, 2021. Despite ongoing efforts, the festival has now been postponed to November 11-14, 2021. EZoo Cancún offers attendees standard, premium, or luxury packages at The Grand Oasis ranging in price from $759 to $849 per person. While the price tag does not include flights, it does cover all-inclusive food and drinks, accommodations, pool parties, beach activities, morning yoga classes, and of course, access to all music events. The initial lineup included headlining performances from Kaskade, Cash Cash, NGHTMRE, and Alesso, adding Diplo to the newly scheduled dates. Phase 2 adds performances from...
For his latest future bass anthem, NGHTMRE has joined forces with rising duo Alexandar Smash on a new single called “Speak Easy,” which features a stunning vocal performance from Ghostlo. “Speak Easy” opens with a gentle touch as Ghostlo’s gossamer vocals float atop soft, distorted synths. The chords begin to progress into an eerie soundscape that eventually crescendos into a soaring drop that should do well to bellow through the festival circuit as it returns in 2021. Rippling with warm saws and thick 808s, the track engulfs the senses as its delicate vocals lend to a beautifully balanced arrangement. Listen to the new single below, which arrived by way of Ultra Records. “‘Speak Easy’ was one of those tracks that really came t...

It’s big, it’s badass and it’s bold. It’s Whethan‘s latest project, Fantasy: Remixed. Out today, March 26th via Atlantic Records, the album features 11 fresh takes on tracks off of Whethan’s acclaimed debut album. Sourced from a stellar lineup of producers including NGHTMRE, Tchami and Flux Pavilion, Fantasy: Remixed stands out with its arrangement of radiant sonics from across the electronic spectrum. Hekler twists “Drumdown Mambo” with Jasiah into a future bass heater, Midnight Kids enhances the STRFKR-assisted “Stay Forever” with synthwave flavor, and Saint Punk infuses “All In My Head” with grandson with filtered rock & roll. NGHTMRE even dips into cinematic dubstep wit...
It looks like Whethan and NGHTMRE are on the verge of dropping an epic collaboration. Both artists took to Twitter yesterday to drop a not-so-subtle hint that a new song is on the way. The collaboration has been in the works since as early as 2019, but Whethan and NGHTMRE’s tweets may signal a release any day now. What we end up hearing may actually be different than what one might expect from a collab between these two electronic music heavyweights. Considering the fact that Whethan has dabbled in the darker avenues of bass music and NGHTMRE is one of the genre’s most prominent producers , it’s only natural to think a trap banger was on its way. However, if past videos are any indication, they’ll be dropping a monster midtempo track akin to something from REZZ or 1...
NGHTMRE is the latest artist to explore the digital frontier of the NFT world. In collaboration with visual artist GREG MIKE, he will soon release a number of pieces later this week. Across both artists’ social media pages, a teaser video of the new collection was shared. Giving fans just an eight-second look at what’s to come, viewers can see some of the visual artist’s signature designs. While none of the sounds have been teased just yet, both NGHTMRE and GREG MIKE promise “unreleased visuals, music, and a few special items.” Considering GREG MIKE’s past NFT collections have featured physical accompaniments, some have speculated that the aforementioned “special items” will be physical pieces of art. The shop page for the collectio...
