Cole has the streets buzzing with the release of his latest song, but depending on who you ask, reactions are all over the place and it seems even fellow rapper Chance The Rapper has something to say. On Tuesday (Jun 16), J. Cole dropped his new track, “Snow On Tha Bluff,” taking aim at who many fans have deciphered as Chicago rapper/activist Noname. While J. Cole took to Twitter to address the controversy without naming his target specifically, he did state he stood by his words before encouraging fans to follow Noname on social media citing her as a leader. “Morning. I stand behind every word of the song that dropped last night,” J. Cole tweeted. “I love and honor her as a leader in these times. She has done and is doing the reading and the listening and th...
Source: Twitter / Twitter At a time when Black people are still being killed by police and protesters are being tear gassed and tazed, a white female officer is asking for the public to go easy on police after a local McDonald’s had a delay with her food. In a tearful rant posted online, the unidentified woman who appears to be an officer in the state of Georgia is appearing to be in a parking lot, although it’s unclear if she was still at the fast food chain where the delay occurred waiting on her food or a manager—detailing the “difficult” situation. “I got to the 2nd window to get my food. I am waiting, and I am waiting,” the woman said. “The girl comes to the window and asks me what my order was. I repeat my order and my coffee. Um. Order. And they ask me to pull up because my food is ...
Source: SETH HERALD / Getty President Donald Trump has made an incredible fool of himself countless times in recent weeks, but this latest move was especially ludicrous even by his standards. Trump had the audacity to say that he made Juneteenth “very famous” which anyone with good sense knows isn’t true. In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, the former business mogul and one-time reality television star talked about a wide range of topics, including former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s tell-all book, the crumbling economy, and other topics. But what was especially maddening occurred is that Trump somehow found a way to make Juneteenth about himself. With an upcoming rally in Tulsa, Okla., the site of one of the most horrific acts of racism known as the Black Wall Stre...

It is no secret that I have been pursuing the @miketyson biopic for some time… people always ask me when is it going to happen?… things have finally lined up… A few months ago we started the journey… The first but biggest task is to transform the body… with a regiment of pull-ups dips and push-ups, we are off to a pretty good start… we have a ways to go but God willing… yesterday on my good friend’s @markbirnbau...
Source: YouTube / Youtube Just when we all thought Brooklyn couldn’t get more gentrified, a colonizer from God knows where took issue with something that wouldn’t be an issue during the days of Big Poppa. This week in what was once known as “Do or Die” Bed-Stuy, a Trump-supporting neighborhood transplant, Abraham “Avrumy” Knofler took issue with a “Black Lives Matter” sign being posted at the Burly Coffee/Better Read Than Dead cafe in Brooklyn. “Avrumy” demanded that the sign be taken down before trying to educate the worker and everyone in attendance that “all lives matter.” Holding up the line and claiming that the BLM sign “caused the whole problem” of people arguing outside the shop’s window, the seemingly 6-months pregnant Knofler had no problem recording his entire rant about the sig...

Source: Jemal Countess / Getty In recent weeks, the efforts of the Black Lives Matter movement have been concentrated in major American cities in the wake of the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor among others. Styles P poised some thoughts regarding the fundraising efforts of BLM via Twitter, which is a continuation of recent speculation that donations made to the organization have been reportedly difficult to track. Styles, one of the most active rappers on Twitter, used his platform as he often does to engage with the public and to ponder thoughts as he sees fit. On June 11, the Lox rapper wrote, “Where is the money being donated going ? Who is the treasurer of blm ? Do they have leaders in every city they contact ? Is it a board ? and where are the headquarters ...
It was bound to happen. In an internal memo, Nike has revealed that it will be recognizing Juneteenth as an annual paid holiday. In recent years, Juneteenth has become more prominent as a celebration of June 19, 1865 (not that long ago), when the Emancipation Proclamation was read to freed African-Americans in Texas by General Gordon Granger. Mind you, the Emancipation Proclamation was issued over a year prior on January 1, 1863. Texas was the last Confederate state to have proclamation announced after the conclusion of the Civil War in 1865. Ever since, June 19 or Freedom Day or Juneteenth has been a day of celebration that has only grown throughout the years. In lieu of Black Lives Matter becoming a rallying cry for the continued pursuit of racial justice, it’s only a matter of time befo...

Tilton / Getty NASCAR introduced plans to promote diversity within the sport, giving drivers like Bubba Wallace opportunities to not only flourish on the track but also take a stand for social justice. A white driver who expressed discomfort over NASCAR’s ban of the Confederate Flag and allowing peaceful protesting has motivated him to quit the sport. As reported by CBS Sports, Ciccarelli, a 50-year-old racer from Ellicot City, Md., voiced his frustrations in a Facebook post stating that he would quit NASCAR after the 2020 season due to the organization’s embrace of kneeling during the National Anthem, and the ban on flying of the Confederate Flag, long seen a symbol of hate and division among African-Americans. From Ciccarelli’s Facebook page: Well its been a fun ride and...

Source: Henrico County Jail / Henrico County Jail A weekend protest in a Richmond, Va. suburb was nearly upended by the acts of a man who prosecutors say is a professed Ku Klux Klan leader. Harry Rogers was hit with several charges after attempting to drive his vehicle through a throng of peaceful protestors gathering in support of George Floyd and others.
