Bad Religion Unveil New Symphonic Version of Against the Grain’s “Faith Alone”
The punk legends in Bad Religion released a new, symphonic take on one of their classic tracks. Rather than the traditional combination of two guitars, a bass, and drums backing Greg Graffin’s vocals, the iconic singer is alone with a piano for the beginning of “Faith Alone” (originally on 1990’s Against the Grain) before being joined by strings. L7’s Smell the Magic to Be Issued on Vinyl for the First Time
L7 broke through with their power-packed sophomore album, Smell the Magic, 30 years ago. Now, the record that melded elements of is getting a proper reissue. Out on Sept. 18 via Sub Pop, this is the first time that the album is coming to vinyl. You can listen to a remastered version of “Shove” below. The reissue comes in a special Loser edition — which in this case is — a clear with orange, blue, and gray vinyl. If you’re a collector, and into that, there enjoy. David Bowie’s archival drops are continuing with the upcoming digital release of Something in the Air (Live Paris 99). Recorded on Oct. 14, 1999, in Paris’ Elysée Montmartre, the new installment includes rarities like “Can’t Help Thinking About Me,” which he recorded in 1965 but haven’t performed in more than three decades. It also includes live renditions of “Word on a Wing,” off 1975’s Station to Station; Aladdin Sane’s “Drive-In Saturday;” and the premiere live performance of “Something in the Air,” off Hours, which released that year. Christian “King” Combs was driving his red Ferrari when it got smashed into by a man driving a Tesla—who was determined to be under the influence. Combs seems to be strictly the victim in this incident. Reports TMZ: King was involved in a car accident a little after midnight in Bev Hills, when cops say a man in a Tesla speeding down Sunset Blvd. lost control and smashed into King’s red Ferrari.
