So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that our new favorite mayor is calling the murder of Ahmaud Arbery what it is: a lynching. During an interview on CNN with Jake Tapper, Mayor Keisha bluntly stated her opinion on the matter saying, “It’s heartbreaking that it’s 2020 and this was a lynching of an African American man.” No lies detected. New Order’s Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris, Brandon Flowers to Pay Tribute to Ian Curtis
The 40th anniversary of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis’ death is on May 18. To honor his legacy, his former bandmates (and current New Order members) Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris will take part in a livestream on the anniversary. The duo will be joined by the Killers singer Brandon Flowers, Elbow, Kodaline and more to be revealed. Titled Moving Through the Silence: Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Ian Curtis, the stream will feature two hours of live and exclusive conversation, music and poetry. C Marie, 18, entered into a production contract with Bentley but says that he failed to deliver thus sparking a $1.8 million lawsuit. The Blast reports that Bentley, real name Floyd Bentley, and C Marie, real name Carley Marie Masten, began working together after the singing of the contract which stated that Bentley would craft songs for Ms. Masten and also help develop her talent. Creamfields Officially Postponed to 2021
Fabled UK electronic music festival Creamfields has officially been postponed due to the impact of COVID-19. Creamfields is the UK’s oldest and arguably most illustrious electronic dance music festival. Back in February of this year, they released a mammoth lineup, which featured Deadmau5, Tiësto, and Martin Garrix, among many others among EDM’s corps d’elite. All three of those artists, however, have already been confirmed for the rescheduled event along with a few others, like Eric Prydz and Hot Since 82, which should do well to allay the concerns of current ticket-holders.
