Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty NBA superstar Dwight Howard has revealed that in the midst of dealing with the stress of the pandemic, his family has suffered a tragic loss after the mother of his son passed away. According to ESPN, The Los Angeles Lakers star said the mother of his six-year-old son, Melissa Rios, passed away back in March after having an epileptic seizure. During the interview, Howard explained that the hardest part of losing Rios was having to explain her passing to their six-year-old son. “I’ve had some things happen in my personal life that has been difficult to really handle,” Howard said. “My son’s mom, she had passed away a month and a half ago and it’s extremely difficult for me to try to understand how to talk to my son, who’s 6 years old, just about the whole sit...
Another Monday, another Billie Joe Armstrong cover. In the latest in his No Fun Mondays quarantine covers series, the Green Day singer took on Eric Carmen’s “That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll” that was accompanied by an animated video. “Today’s song is “That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll” by Eric Carmen who was also in The Raspberries. However the first time I heard this song was by teen heartthrob Shaun Cassidy. My sisters would dance around the house to this one!” the caption for the post read. Last week, Armstrong tackled Stiv Bators’ “Not That Way Anymore.” Armstrong has created a pretty solid collection of covers including The Wonders’ “That Thing You Do!” from the 1996 film of the same out of tribute to the late Adam Schlesinger. He’s also covered Tommy James & The Shondells’ “I Think W...
After a long and eventful season filled with dazzling highs and crushing lows, we’re finally in the home stretch of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12. On the May 15 episode, the final five queens duked it out to secure their spot in the top 4 by putting on a show-stopping Las Vegas singing and dancing spectacle in honor of RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! In one of the stiffest competitions to date, Gigi Goode, Jaida Essence Hall, and Sherry Pie advanced to the grand finale, while Crystal Methyd and Jackie Cox found themselves in the bottom and having to fight for the last remaining spot. After a close lip-sync battle to Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull’s 2011 hit “On the Floor,” fan favorite Crystal Methyd claimed her spot in the finals, while Jackie Cox sashayed away. With less than two weeks to go u...
Nothing was as it usually is on Sunday night’s (May 17) American Idol season finale. The contestants were all singing in their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Katy Perry had to perform on a green screen set instead of a big stage in Hollywood and host Ryan Seacrest had to pull his old Idol logo out of mothballs and set up shop in his garage to host the two-hour coronation. Also, Seacrest didn’t seem to be quite himself. As the show progressed, viewers noticed that something seemed a bit off with the typically unflappable, consummate professional host. His speech sounded slurred at points and his left eye seemed strangely larger and more wide-open than his half-shut right eye. A spokesperson for Seacrest, 45, responded to the questions on Monday morning (May 18), te...
“I mean, I know I’m the girl who says ‘I Think We’re Alone Now,’ but seriously, this wasn’t what it was supposed to be,” Tiffany quipped during her Billboard Live At-Home set. Tiffany evoked the good ol’ days of touring for her Billboard Live At-Home performance Monday (May 18) to raise money for The Global FoodBanking Network. Despite being currently quarantined in Palm Springs, Calif. with her music producer/guitarist/tour manager Mark Alberici, Tiffany (real name Tiffany Darwish) remains positive with touring plans already on the horizon. “So far, it’s looking like June 18th is the first show…. It’s so crazy a little bit right now to not understand one community to the next; some people are still on l...
If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that you can take the person out of the rave, but you can’t take the rave out of the person. That was the unofficial mantra of last weekend’s EDC Las Vegas Virtual Rave-A-Thon, which went down as one of the largest virtual music festivals to emerge from our time in quarantine. Such a monumental event required its artists to pull out all the stops in order to shake up the livestream game, like SVDDEN DEATH, who performed a barbaric set as his sinister alter ego VOYD, and NGHTMRE and Ghastly, who showed out with a special B2B set. Enter David Guetta, who pulled a rabbit out of his hat by renting out fabled Miami nightclub LIV for his ballyhooed Rave-A-Thon set. Guetta’s performance was unqu...
Source: photo: Abel Fermin/WENN.com One of the most celebrated films of any genre is about to brought back to life. If the hearsay is correct we could possibly get a melanin version of one the most iconic gangsters in cinema history. As spotted on High Snobiety things are moving quickly for the movie reboot of Scarface. Jordan is now being considered to play Tony Montana. This reboot has been in the works for som...
Source: NBC / Getty Much has been said about the uncomfortable testing method for the Coronavirus but with the pandemic continuing to rage throughout the world, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo decided to show just how quick and easy the test can be. Stressing the importance of testing and imploring New Yorkers to go out and get tested for the virus at Sunday’s press conference, Gov. Cuomo decided to get tested himself on live TV to prove you don’t have to be “New York tough” to go through the procedure. Standing up straight while a doctor in protective gear inserted a nasal swab into his nose to take a sample, the moment was a stern reminder of what elected officials are supposed to do in order to reassure their constituents that at the end of the day we’re all in this together. Source: Alexander Tamargo / Getty Rick Ross is going to have to pay up. Court documents have confirmed that Rozay is indeed the father of former partner Briana Camille’s two smaller children. This is a win for Camille since the Miami rapper apparently booted her from the crib in late 2019. The good folk at Bossip got the tea: The Maybach Music CEO is more than 99 percent likely the dad of three-year-old Berkeley and two-year-old Billion, according to DNA test results filed as part of the case. The news comes as Briana Camille, who is pregnant with the former couple’s third child, requested immediate temporary child support for the children. She said that Ross hasn’t contributed financially to the kids since he kicked them out of his house late last year, according to court papers obta...
Source: Michelle Thorpe – PA Images / Getty It seems that Kanye West‘s plans for his childhood home aren’t coming to fruition without a few problems after the city of Chicago halted renovation to the old crib. According to the Chicago Tribune, Kanye West has run into trouble with the city of Chicago while in the midst of renovating the South Side home he grew up in. The city issued a stop-work order in February after it said it found plaster had been removed without a building permit. This makes the second time that the city has filed a citation against the tan house located at 7815 S. South Shore Dr. after it reportedly landed in demolition court last year after the city claimed it had “dangerous and unsafe conditions.” Work has since resumed on the property since the latest issue, t...
