Tiësto’s Musical Freedom imprint is releasing arguably its most ambitious undertaking in its history—its first compilation album. Coming at the end of this month, the Musical Freedom Unlimited compilation will feature twenty new releases from its expansive roster of talent. Several artists that helped shape the label’s near eleven years of illustrious history will be coming together with new singles, including Breathe Carolina, Sikdope, Reece Low, Olly James, and many more. Influential DJ and tastemaker of the Manchester music scene, Dave Booth, has passed away. A cultural icon of the Manchester club landscape, Booth crafted a memorable multi-decade career and left a lasting legacy. His cause of death is not yet known at the time of writing. Longtime fans and colleagues recognize Booth’s impactful history of performances. The veteran DJ, who had the enviable collection of over 5,000 albums on vinyl, was known for his encyclopedic-like depth of knowledge and unbridled passion for dance music. Nine Inch Nails were supposed to hit the road this year, so says Trent Reznor. But, for obvious reasons, those shows aren’t happening.
