Neil Young Performs for an Audience of Animals

Neil Young has dropped his latest Fireside Sessions livestream, but with a twist. Opening up with animals, Young took things outdoors but what he’s calling the Barnyard Sessions. As usual, the result did not disappoint. Directed again by Daryl Hannah, the session is just under 29 minutes and sees Young go deep into his catalog. Opening up with “Tumbleweed” from 2014’s Storytone on ukulele outside of the barn, Young barnstormed through songs including “Homegrown,” “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere” (where he’s surrounded by chickens) and “War of Man” as twilight beckons. Jeff Rosenstock Surprise Releases New Album No Dream

Jeff Rosenstock has done it again. The singer/songwriter has surprise-released No Dream, his fourth solo studio album, without warning. He previously did this on New Year’s Day 2018 when he dropped Post- without warning as well. “It was feeling like a very personal record for me,” Rosenstock said in a statement. “A lot of it was stemming from the anxiety I was feeling from the last two years, this existential crisis of wondering who I am. I didn’t expect to be doing well, in my life, ever.” Having recently moved to Los Angeles, Rosenstock recorded the album with Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Hard Girls, Joyce Manor) at Oakland’s Atomic Garden. However, despite the rumors, the authorities are not in possession of any footage of the alleged incident. At least, not yet. News from a very reliable Call of Duty leaker claims that 2020 iteration of the popular first-person shooter will be called Black Ops: Cold War. Twitter user Okami13_, who accurately announced previous COD games like Warzone and Modern Warfare, shared a mock of the 2010’s Black Ops cover art added “Cold War” to it. According to GamesRadar, Okami’s tweet corroborates earlier leaks about the rumored forthcoming shooter, which is reportedly being developed by Treyarch, the same studio behind the first Black Ops game. Live Entertainment Is Returning Down Under

Live music is about to awaken from its lockdown slumber Down Under. From next week, Live Nation will test a weekly series of socially distanced concerts and comedy events in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. The Together Again shows will start next Friday (May 29) and Saturday (May 30) at The Tuning Fork in central Auckland, part of Spark Arena (formerly Vector Arena) with a rotating line-up of local artists and comedians. Willie K, the Grammy-nominated Hawaiian artist and producer, died Monday night (May 18) at his home in Wailuku after a years-long battle with lung cancer. He was 59. Born William Kahaiali‘I and known affectionately as Uncle Willie, the celebrated artist mastered the blues from a young age, taught by his dad Manu Kahaiali‘I, himself a respected musician. “My father was a great influence,” says Willie K in his biog. “He groomed me to be where I am today.
