Yeah Yeah Yeahs Play ‘Phenomena’ in Karen O’s Closet

Karen O has been quite active on social media since quarantine began, and last night she shared another performance from her closet — this time joined by Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner (remotely, via laptop, of course). The two played “Phenomena” off the band’s 2006 album Show Your Bones. The singer transformed her closet with streamers, strobe lights, and a smoke machine, and donned a face covering that she quickly tore off. “Somethin’ like a phenomena,” she captioned the video on Instagram. “Party anywhere (closet) anytime (any day of the week) safe at home” Karen O reiterated this sentiment at the end of the performance. “Fuckin’ party on!” she yelled before the closet door closed. Last month, Karen O shared her first closet performance — dusting off the first track she ever...

Spotify Extends Work From Home Arrangement Through End of 2020 For All Employees

Spotify is extending their remote work from home arrangement for all global employees through the end of the 2020 calendar year. The company operates over 50 offices and employs over 5,000 full time workers globally. The move to extend remote work until at least 2021 will allow the company to dictate phasing in their global office and reopen at their own pace. In a statement to Variety, a Spotify spokesperson commented, “We will continue to track local government guidelines city-by-city and take a phased approach of opening our offices when we deem it safe to do so.” The COVID-19 pandemic continues to rapidly reshape the work environment, accelerating a trend towards remote work from home arrangements. Tech companies have been leading the trend. Most notably, Jack Dor...

Looks like Madonna needs to do some laundry… The pop idol is back to her risque ways and posted a very NSFW photo on Instagram today. (Good thing most of us are working from home these days.) The revealing photo shows Madge wearing nothing but a black thong and transparent nude-colored bra, exposing her nipples. “Current Wardrobe Sitch,” she captioned the post before getting ahead of any critics. ‘And for those of you who are offended in any way by this photo then I want to let you know that I have successfully graduated from the University of Zero F*^ks Given. Flea and John Frusciante Are Spinning Records That ‘Impacted’ Them on DubLab Radio

Flea and John Frusciante are pretty damn good at what they do, and today they’re “gonna spin some jams that got us going and impacted how we play our instruments” on DubLab Radio. The two-hour session begins at 5:00 p.m. EST on dublab.com. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were supposed to be headlining Boston Calling this weekend; however, the COVID-19 pandemic squashed those plans. Though Frusciante played with RHCP during a special event earlier this year, the festival was supposed to mark the guitarist’s first performance since reuniting with the band in December after a 13 year hiatus. Earlier this week, Lollapalooza shared RHCP’s set from 2006 — a gig that would be one of Frusciante’s last before he quit the band a second time. Josh Klinghoffer took over on guitar before being...

Lana Del Rey Defends Herself For Defending ‘Controversial Post’ About Women of Color

Lana Del Rey isn’t done explaining herself after getting blasted for a “controversial post” earlier this week. “Now that Doja Cat, Ariana, Camila, Cardi B, Kehlani and Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, fucking, cheating, etc — can I please go back to singing about being embodied, feeling beautiful by being in love even if the relationship is not perfect, or dancing for money — or whatever i want — without being crucified or saying that I’m glamorising [sic] abuse???????” she wrote originally. Though clapping back at those who say she glamorizes abuse, she received backlash for seemingly marginalizing women of color. “Bro. This is sad to make it about a WOC issue when I’m talking about my favorite singers,” Lana wrote, defending he...
