Justin Hawkins, the lead singer and guitarist for The Darkness, was rushed to the hospital after an accident that left him with melted shorts and chemical burns. Hawkins got into the accident while trying to fix the swimming pool at his home in Switzerland. “There was a problem with the pool, a pump thing and some chemicals came out of it,” he explained in a video on the celebrity personal message site Cameo, which has since been deleted. Thinking that there was a problem with a chemical in the pool that was affecting its acidity, he said he “was trying to fix it and I touched my legs and my shorts melted onto my legs, so then I had to go to hospital. [sic]” He had to go through emergency treatment and is believed to have made a full recovery since the accident took place. Hawkins, who’s b...
Next week, Neil Young’s long-awaited (and it’s long-awaited) Homegrown album that he recorded in 1974 will finally be released. Young previously shared “Try” from the album that he once considered way too personal to release. That song featured Levon Helm and EmmyLou Harris. Today, he’s shared another tune from the collection. “Vacancy” is a stompy rocker that is more accustomed to the impending era with Crazy Horse that would come to define the latter part of the ’70s that is sharply reflected on Live Rust. This tune would have been at home on that collection. Though he hasn’t released one in a few weeks, Young has been active during the quarantine. He’s shared five Fireside Sessions livestreams, including the last one that featured guest appearances by ...
Source: Cassidy Sparrow / Getty If there were ever a time for music artists that create music around the current social-political movement that’s rocking America to it’s core, it’s now and artists like Dax and others are taking a moment to do just that. For his new visuals to “Black Lives Matter,” Dax takes a moment in the desert to reflect on the world while using footage of the protests going on in damn near every city in the United States which demonstrate just how powerful unity can be when it comes to racial injustice. While the streets continue to heat up during the early summer months with calls for justice and equality, French Montana heads to a body of water for some jet skiing fun with Swipey and some young women for their clip to “Freca.” Check out the rest of today’s drops incl...
Three weeks after the momentous announcement of their debut album Here for Now, renowned future pop duo Louis The Child have notified fans of the album’s postponement. The delay was precipitated by the desire to focus on the fight against racial equality and justice amid ongoing protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer. Taking to Instagram to share an official statement, Louis The Child announced a rescheduled release date of Friday, June 26th in lieu of its original date, which was supposed to be tomorrow, June 12th. “What we’re experiencing right now is history,” the duo wrote. “Seeing people from all walks of life come together in support of the Black Lives Matter movement both in the streets and o...
The redesigned BMW X5 has been out for well more than a year, and now, the plug-in hybrid version is finally arriving. It might be worth the wait, considering it’ll deliver more power and achieve significantly better EV-only range than its predecessor. Oh, and when the 2021 BMW X5 xDrive45e arrives in U.S. dealerships this July, it won’t be cheap, either. The big news under the X5 hybrid’s hood is an engine swap. In place of the previous X5 PHEV’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine sits a 3.0-liter six-cylinder. That move helps the new X5 xDrive45e push out a total of 389 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque between its gas engine and electric assist motor, increases of 81 ponies and 111 lb-ft from the old four-cylinder version. BMW also installs a larger battery, wh...
It’s no secret Porsche is working on a wagon variant of its battery-electric Taycan sedan. When the German brand plans to unveil the long-roof Taycan model officially remains a mystery. Thanks to a well-placed source within the company, though, we now have a general idea of the forthcoming Taycan Cross Turismo‘s unveil date, and it’s sooner than we expected. While we do not know an exact day or time, we are told the Taycan EV wagon will officially debut toward the end of the year. Frankly, we figured Porsche would wait until 2021 to show off the model. Nevertheless, the fact the brand plans to take the wraps off of the Taycan Cross Turismo before the calendar turns over gives us hope the car will reach our shores by the middle of 2021, perhaps as a 2022 model. As sp...

SAINt JHN is paying tribute to the real superheroes of this world. The “Roses” rapper has released a special edition t-shirt to honor George Floyd and the countless Black lives lost to police brutality. The “Real Superheroes Tees” feature a pair of powerful designs. On the front is an artwork of some devilish protesters, accompanying the words: “Not Travon, Not Eric, Not Sandra, Not Ahmaud, Not Breonna, Not George, Not Looters, Not A Riot, Not America, Not This Time, Not A Cult.” On the back is a burning map of the United States, containing at its heart a poignant letter. In the wake of international protests against the death of George Floyd and other Black men and women at the hand of police officers, BMG has committed to action. And timeframes. One week on from “Black Out Tuesday,” BMG has set out its stance on racism and inequality. The music company circulated a message to thousands of its artists and songwriters with a pledge: “We need to play our part in addressing historical injustices inflicted on black people.” Mindful of the music industry’s “record of shameful treatment of black artists,” the message reads, “we have begun a review of all historic record contracts. If any inequities or anomalies are found, BMG will create a plan to address them within 30 days.” BMG also promises to address diversity within its workplace. “...
Source: Harry How / Getty Shut up and dribble? We think not! Much to the dismay of Laura Inghram, LeBron James has been one of the sports world most vocal critics of not only “President” Donald “Bunker B*tch” Trump, but also the social injustices that continue to effect communities of color. Now he’s taking it upon himself to make sure that Black and Brown voters get a fair shake come election time in November and avoid the kind of f*ckery that went down in Georgia this past Tuesday where voter machines suddenly didn’t work and paper ballots weren’t available. The New York Times is reporting that King James along with Trae Young, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Jalen Rose have decided to start up the More Than A Vote organization whose goal is to not only enroll new voters across the board, ...
