Rina Sawayama Announces SAWAYAMA Deluxe Edition, Shares New Song “LUCID”: Stream
Rina Sawayama has announced a deluxe edition of SAWAYAMA, one of our favorite albums of 2020. Due out next month, the expanded release comes with an entire second disc of bonus material, including a new single called “LUCID”. The deluxe collection consists of the 13 original SAWAYAMA songs and 11 additional tracks. Three of these have never before seen the light of day: “LUCID”, “We Out Here”, and “Bees & Honey”. There is also a cover of The 1975 song “Love It If We Made It”, in addition to acoustic renditions of “Bad Friend”, “STFU!”, and “Chosen Family” and fresh remixes from Dream Wife and Pabllo Vittar. Christine and the Queens Partners with Indochine on New Song “3SEX”: Stream
Christine and the Queens has teamed up with Indochine band leader Nicola Sirkis for a collaborative song called “3SEX”. The track reworks Indochine’s iconic French new wave cut “3e sexe”, originally released in 1986, into a synthpop dance tune about queer liberation. When sharing the song online, Chris posted a statement in French explaining what it means to her. “Thank you @nicolasirkis @indochinetwitt for the honor and for giving me the confidence to sing ‘3SEX’ with you, at a time when the very word freedom takes on all its meaning and urgency,” she tweeted. “Real revolutions never die. Minneapolis three piece The Soviet Machines lived out an alt-rock dream when they traveled to Seattle to work with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana’s Bleach). The band is now premiering the music video for “Get Your Kicks”, the lead single from their upcoming debut album, exclusively via Heavy Consequence. The Soviet Machines’ vintage power trio approach is well suited for Endino, who captured many of the Seattle grunge scene’s legendary guitar bands. He’s got major credits on records by Nirvana, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, and countless others. Most recently, Endino has produced the acclaimed works of US doom institution Windhand. Arab Strap Announce New Album As Days Get Dark, Share “Compersion Pt. 1”: Stream
Mere months after dropping a new song out of nowhere, Arab Strap have returned with even bigger news. The Scottish indie rockers have just announced their first new album in 16 years. It’s called As Days Get Dark and it’s due out March 5th via Rock Action. As Days Get Dark follows Arab Strap’s great 2005 album The Last Romance, shortly after which they called it quits. This new full-length spans 11 tracks in total, including “The Turning of Our Bones”, which they dropped in September. The song was put out as a standalone number, but now we know it’s actually the album opener on As Days Get Dark, according to the tracklist.
