The Hotel Lobby have arrived with their first song of the year, a dynamic bass track called “No Soul To Sell.” Created in collaboration with long-time friend and producer Swage, the song has come to fruition after the three LA-based producers hit the studio in early 2022. The heavy-hitting track was released via the independent record label Speed House Movement. Building on the hyper-house genre with an electrifying first drop and forward-thinking second drop produced in half-time, The Hotel Lobby set their sights on pushing the genre forward alongside Swage, a bass house vet with many high-profile collabs under his belt. “I’ve always wanted to work with THL, they’re some of my best friends and we’ve both been vibing on speed house lately,̶...

Get a recap of last month’s new releases and music news with our monthly top picks playlist. Even though summer’s almost over, the party is only just beginning for DJs and producers. With virtual editions of some of the biggest festivals, such as Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza, fans have been able to dance the night away to festival anthems while DJs teased new tracks. David Guetta and MORTEN finally released their “future rave” project, New Rave, which Guetta teased during his EDC Las Vegas Virtual Rave-A-Thon and his United At Home livestreams. Spanning four tracks in total, the EP showcases the growth of their patented “future rave” sound. In an interview with EDM.com, Guetta said, “You could play back-to-back the four records and completely...
Still stuck in quarantine for the foreseeable future, DJs and producers are using the free time to churn out new releases. Last month Armin van Buuren had not one, but three new releases. That includes his most recent melodic house track, “Hollow,” and two festival-ready big room tracks, “Boom Boom” and “Tarzan” with Blasterjaxx. After releasing his London Sessions album in May, Tiësto is still dropping new music too. This time he went with a more bouncy house sound in “Tomorrow.” Nora En Pure also has been busy making new songs while she’s stuck at home. According to a press release for her first release of the year, “All I Need,” fans can expect “a steady stream of new music over the rest of the year.”&nbs...
Getting in gear for the summer, DJs and producers across electronic music’s subgenres pumped out both fun, radio-friendly dance pop singles and chill, laid-back collaborations last month. Most notably, deadmau5 teamed up with The Neptunes for his first release of 2020, “Pomegranate,” exploring a nu-disco sound. Marshmello and Halsey also dropped a summery, 80s-inspired collaboration of their own called “Be Kind.” Although it touches on the struggles of being in a serious relationship, Halsey described it as “cute,” “optimistic,” and “heartfelt” in a tweet. She went on to say they thought everyone “could use the vibes right now.” This same sentiment can be found in Martin Garrix‘s latest progressive house co...
While we might still be stuck at home for a considerable amount of time because of COVID-19, DJs and producers haven’t let the pandemic stop them from bringing new music to fans. In fact, for some, it’s actually helped with freeing up more time to finish unreleased songs. In EDM.com‘s interview with Riot Ten about being in quarantine, he said that he has less on his mind, having not to think about traveling and touring. And although he wishes he could play his music live, he has a lot of unreleased songs that he can now focus on. Last month Riot Ten released “Save You,” a single from his upcoming EP that’s slated for June. He told us that fans are going to hear “some of the heaviest music” he’s ever produced. The same will mo...
