New Orleans Jazz Fest 2023: Dead & Company, Ed Sheeran, and Lizzo Lead Lineup

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has revealed its expansive 2023 lineup, led by Dead & Company, Ed Sheeran, Lizzo, Mumford and Sons, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Santana, and The Lumineers. Jazzfest returns April 28th – May 7th, featuring 5,000 musicians spread across 14 different stages at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans. Red Hot Chili Peppers Replace Foo Fighters at 2022 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival

Foo Fighters have cancelled all their tour dates following the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, and that includes their scheduled appearance at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 2022. Now, organizers have announced that Red Hot Chili Peppers will join the biggest musical event in the Big Easy, headlining on Sunday, May 1st. This will be RHCP’s first time at the event since 2016. The band is touring in support of their new album Unlimited Love, their first studio set featuring guitarist John Frusciante since 2006. George Wein, the legendary music festival producer behind the Newport Folk and Jazz festivals as well as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, has died. He was 95 years old. Invited by socialites Louis and Elaine Lorillard to help bring a jazz festival to Newport, Rhode Island in 1954, Wein ended up setting the stage for the modern music festival revolution. “George Wein defined what a music festival could be with the Newport Jazz Festival, Newport Folk Festival and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival,” said LL Cool J while awarding Wein the Grammy Honorary Trustee Award in 2015. “This is a great guy. 2021 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Canceled Due to COVID Surge in Louisiana

The 2021 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been canceled due to a surge of COVID-19 cases in Louisiana. The popular annual event was one of many festivals expected to return this fall, but will now take place in spring 2022. The 2021 edition was set to be staged over two weekends from October 8th through 17th, and feature such acts as The Rolling Stones (who were added recently), Foo Fighters, Stevie Nicks, Dead & Company, Lizzo, Demi Lovato, Elvis Costello, and dozens more artists. The fest will now take place in 2022 over the two weekends from April 29th through May 8th.
