The “Beyoncé house music era” is here. The Queen Bey hive mind had been buzzing in anticipation of Renaissance, her first solo studio album since 2016’s Lemonade. And after today’s release, it’s clear that Beyoncé is embracing electronic music like she never has before. Four-on-the-floor rhythms run roughshod through the album, which growls with the ferocity of a classic Beyoncé record while harkening back to the kaleidoscopic discos of the ’70s. She’s joined forces with a slew of compelling producers for Renaissance, reimagining the rave with an album that has the feel of a deeply influential harbinger for the future of dance music. The artwork of Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, “Renaissance,” which features production from Skrillex, ...
Over five years after its predecessor, the release of Calvin Harris‘ Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 album is just about a week away. The last few months have been tantamount to torture for fans of the chart-topping “Summer” producer, who had been cryptically teasing the follow-up to 2017’s influential Vol. 1, saying back in March that it’s the “maddest album” he’s ever produced. And if its tracklist is any indication, he wasn’t kidding around. If the crossover potential of Funk Wave Bounces Vol. 1 was hot, that of its successor is downright volcanic. The tracklist, which Harris revealed today, is brimming with monster collaborations. Highlights include “New To You” (with Normani, Tinashe and Migos’ Offset) and R...
Dusk is fleeting. Magical. Mysterious. Anything, after all, can happen after dark. A range of dance-pop singalongs, future bass ballads and brooding melodic house breaks maintain a special class of emotional dynamism. Cinematic musical motifs like brisk drum sequences an...

After commanding stages worldwide for over a decade, Seven Lions is leaping into his debut album cycle. Despite all the milestones achieved thus far, Seven Lions is arguably embarking on his most impactful musical project yet with his upcoming LP, which he’s announced will be titled Beyond The Veil. The album is slated to release on October 21st, 2022. It was in 2011 when Seven Lions achieved a career-making moment on a whim. After discovering a remix competition from Above & Beyond on Beatport, he called in sick to work in order to give it his best shot. His remix of “You Got To Go” not only won the competition, but also changed the trajectory of dubstep forever. Since then, Seven Lions has become melodic dubstep’s foremost pioneer, and after parting with ...
