Famed electronic music group M83 have announced a new album, Fantasy. Fantasy is M83’s ninth studio album and first since 2019’s DSVII. It’s been confirmed for a March 17th release via Other Suns, a record label founded by Anthony Gonzalez, the band’s frontman. M83 recently released “Oceans Niagara,” the lead single from Fantasy, an atmospheric track that swells from its first bar all the way to its cathartic coda. The song dropped alongside an otherworldly music video directed by Gonzalez’s brother Yann, which has a distinctly retro feel with gritty animations, vintage clothing and kaleidoscopic snapshots from fanciful sets. Ellie Goulding has pushed back the release of her hotly anticipated fifth album, Higher Than Heaven. Back in summer 2021, Goulding suggested Higher Than Heaven will see her returning to her EDM roots, calling it “a dance thing from outer space.” The upcoming album has now been postponed from February 3rd to March 24th. Taking to Twitter to announce the delay, the Grammy-nominated electropop star attributed it to “exciting opportunities” that came up in recent weeks. Goulding also confirmed a new single, “Like a Saviour,” and shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the track’s music video. “It’s one of my favourite videos I’ve ever done,” she wrote. “[Higher Than Heaven is] about being passionately in love,” Gouldin...
Cue up the Michael Scott memes, because it’s happening. Countless headlines pertaining to new albums from Skrillex—yes, plural—have ran ad nauseam for years. They’ve been tantamount to torture for fans of the dubstep icon, who shed his skin as the poster boy of “brostep” and became one of the world’s most prolific contemporary music producers. It’s been almost a decade since Skrillex’s last album, 2014’s seminal debut, Recess. But fans can finally heave a sigh of relief after he confirmed the release of two albums in 2023. Considering the teaser doesn’t reveal release dates, it’s not quite the smoking gun that fans had in mind, although they’ll surely take it. That, however, came today, when Skrillex took to social media to ...
Despite dropping two albums in a single year, Drake still managed to find time to tap into what’s new and upcoming. Praise from the chart-topping rapper is a rarity, but he offered up complements to GORDO for his upcoming album, emphatically calling it “insane” in a recent interview. GORDO landed six of the final production cuts on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind album, which dropped earlier this year. The album released with little warning and made a splash largely due to Drizzy’s unexpected foray into the house music arena. After retiring his career as Carnage earlier this year, Diamanté Blackmon’s career as GORDO got off to a lightning-quick start after it was announced he’d be taking part in Honestly, Nevermind, Drake...

k?d’s come-up saw him breaking down genre boundaries and rebuilding them with his signature. And years later, it appears that appetite to continue paving new stylistic inroads remains alive and well. k?d’s new album, CAGE SCRIPT, marks his first long-form effort since 2020’s stunning Rebirth. The album sees the enigmatic producer combining elements of synth-pop, glitch, trap and future bass, among other influences. k?d’s opening charge in “Return To Nothingness” finds him melding a diverse fusion of genres together into one playfully uplifting song. While he flexes his versatility on the production side, ensuing tracks “Flow In You” and “If This Is A Dream” show k?d aligning closely with his vocalist collaborators t...
Two years after the tragic death of i_o, the family of the late DJ and electronic music producer has released a posthumous album, Warehouse Summer. The album is a stunning snapshot not only of i_o’s enduring legacy, but also how much more he had to accomplish. It’s both a reminder of the fragility of life and a captivating cry for help in the throes of collective mourning. Warehouse Summer features 14 new tracks, each of which features alt-pop star Lights, a frequent collaborator of the techno virtuoso. It’s tough not to feel her poignant songwriting in your bones, especially when it comes to “Prayers,” an aching drum & bass track about the hurdles of processing loss: “I can’t hold on to myself / If there’s nobody there / I got pain I can...
