Five Finalists Revealed In Unprecedented Elimination Night on NBC’s ‘The Voice’
(Warning, spoilers follow) And then there were five. There was plenty of action and drama Tuesday night (May 12) as four contestants were eliminated on NBC’s The Voice. The Top 9 finalists became the Top 5 as The Voice broke from tradition and guaranteed progress for one artist from each team, along with the Instant Save. The top vote-getter from each team was Micah Iverson (Team Kelly), Thunderstorm Artis (Team Nick), CammWess (Team Legend) and Todd Tilghman (Team Blake) all of whom advance to the finale next Tuesday. At night’s end, Team Blake’s Toneisha Harris got the save from viewers after her performance of “Loving You” and she becomes the inaugural fifth finalist of the talent show, now in its 18th season. Jerry Stiller, legendary actor and comic of Seinfeld and The King of Queens, passed away on Monday morning. He was 91 years old. His son, Ben Stiller, confirmed the news on Twitter: “I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.” A comic, an actor, an author, Stiller spent years on the comedy circuit with his wife Anne Meara as the team Stiller and Meara. He’s perhaps best known for his iconic role as Frank Costanza in Seinfeld and Arthur Spooner in The King of Queens.
