With those words, the stage is set for the prequel series, which premieres on Paramount+ on April 6th. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is set in 1954 — four years before the events of Grease. In the series, Jane teams with Nancy (played by Tricia Fukuhara), Olivia (Cheyenne Wells), and Cynthia (Ari Notartomaso) at Rydell High to form the titular Pink Ladies girl gang, and sets off a moral panic in the process. Their efforts are met with resistance by Jackie Hoffman’s Assistant Principal McGee, who issues the following warning: “Ladies, you must be careful with whom you associate. The Broadway adaptation of Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous is set to close just two months after its official opening. The musical began previews on October 3rd, ahead of its premiere on November 3rd. The final performance is now set for January 8th. The decision to end Almost Famous’ run on Broadway came after the show received lukewarm reviews and pedestrian results at the box office, according to the New York Times. Like other Broadway productions, Almost Famous faced strong headwinds due to an overall decrease in tourism in New York City this fall and winter.
