Tame Impala Remix 070 Shake’s “Guilty Conscience”: Stream

Tame Impala have shared a remix of 070 Shake’s “Guilty Conscience”. Take a listen below. The track comes from our former Artist of the Month’s January debut, Mondus Vivendi, and is one of of our favorite songs of the year so far. The original single walks a bridge from alternative hip-hop to ’80s synthpop, a shimmering and hauntingly original that’s distinctly 070 Shake. The remix, however, is distinctly Kevin Parker. With a psychedelic spin, “Guilty Conscience” is suddenly a few vocal octaves away from a Currents cut. After touring behind Mondus Vivendi, 070 Shake has been taking quarantine easy. However, she recently announced on Instagram that it was “time to go make an album,” so it appears she’s ready to start on a follow-up. Editors’ Picks Tame Imp...

Tainy first laid the groundwork for the track over a year and a half ago, executive producing the cut with his NEON16 partner Lex Borrero. He called up Balvin to handle the vocals, who in turn reached out to Dua Lipa. Bad Bunny hopped on last, adding his own voice during the same 2019 session that birthed “Callaita” (via Billboard). 10 Years Ago, One Direction Introduced The World To Their Infectious Joy

It was Halloween in Northern England, and the boys in One Direction were saying goodbye. The final show on their final journey, 2015’s On the Road Again Tour, was wrapping up — the booming pop-rock of “Drag Me Down” reverberated around Sheffield Arena — but there were no tears in sight. Despite the announcement that the group would go on hiatus in March 2016, a break that’s continued unabated for well over four years, the resilience Directioners showed throughout the gig mirrored the very effervescent nature of the band itself. In the years since the band formed in 2010, the musical outfit of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and (until March 2015) Zayn Malik had weathered plenty together, and together with their fans. Directioners saw the grou...

Taylor Swift’s Surprise New Album Folklore Is Coming Extremely Soon

Almost 15 years ago, singer-songwriter Justin Vernon retreated to his family’s remote Wisconsin cabin and emerged with For Emma, Forever Ago, the star-making debut indie-folk LP from his Bon Iver project. In the years since, Vernon has worked with everyone from Kanye West to James Blake to Vince Staples. He can now add Taylor Swift to that list. On Thursday morning (July 23), Swift announced that a new studio album, her eighth, would drop on Friday. Called Folklore, the album consists of, as Swift tweeted, “songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into.” To help those plans come to life, Swift enlisted help from Vernon (“who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me,” as she wrote) as well as The National’s Aaron Dess...
