Happy hump day! Wednesday have announced that they will return this spring with their third album Rat Saw God, out April 7th via their new label home Dead Oceans. To celebrate the news, the Asheville indie rock band have shared the new single “Chosen to Deserve” today, as well as a bunch of tour dates for 2023. Rat Saw God documents bandleader Karly Hartzman’s coming-of-age in North Carolina, using fuzzed-out guitars and sticky hooks as a vehicle for her intimate, evocative storytelling. Korean-American singer and producer Yaeji has detailed her upcoming debut album, With a Hammer, out April 7th via XL Recordings. The news arrives with a run of 2023 North American tour dates and lead single “For Granted.” Yaeji recorded With a Hammer in New York, London, and Seoul, mixing her dance music roots with Korean indie rock, electronica, and pop from the ‘90s and early 2000s. Collaborators on the album include British musician Loraine James and Baltimore up-and-comer Nourished by Time alongside producers K Wata and Enayet from Yaeji’s extended SLINK NYC crew. Animal Collective’s Avey Tare has announced his latest solo album, 7s, will be released on February 17th via Domino. As you might expect given its title, the clip takes inspiration from Quentin Tarantino and his 2003 film of the same name. Directed by Christian Breslauer, the “Kill Bill” clip begins with SZA (seemingly) happily in love before her boyfriend ends their relationship. Newman produced the 10-track album, which he recorded alongside a lineup of Neko Case, Kathryn Calder, John Collins, Todd Fancey, and Joe Seiders. Daughter have returned with Stereo Mind Game, their first studio album in seven years. It’s out April 7th on Glassnote Records and features the lead single “Be on Your Way.” The trio of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella wrote and recorded the album in locations ranging from London, England to San Diego, California to Vancouver, Washington.
