Brandi Carlile, Shawn Colvin and Jason Isbell Highlight Music on a Mission Virtual Benefit Concert
Grammy-winning artists Brandi Carlile, Shawn Colvin, Jason Isbell along with a long list of others will join the lineup for the virtual benefit concert MusiCares: Music on a Mission on March 30. Along with countless household music names in the lineup, the event also will feature a never-before-seen 2017 MusiCares performance from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Also on the lineup are k.d. lang, Jesse & Joy, Fantastic Negrito, Gian Marco, Dante Spinetta, Amythyst Kiah, morgxn, Zach Person, Emily Wolfe and Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums The virtual show is designed to celebrate the power of music and honor Joni Mitchell, the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year honoree. MusiCares 2021 Person of the Year Gala Canceled, Replaced With Virtual ‘Music on a Mission’ Event
The event will feature never-before-seen performances — some live, some on tape — by Haim, H.E.R., Jhené Aiko and John Legend. (Haim and Aiko are album of the year nominees at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards; H.E.R. is nominated for song of the year. Legend, a Grammy event perennial, is an 11-time Grammy winner.) The event will also include video from the MusiCares vaults of performances at past Person of the Year galas by Stevie Nicks, Usher, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and “one or two artists” who MusiCares won’t name yet.
