Electric Forest Organizers Share Critical Update on Festival’s 2021 Edition

There is still a glimmer of hope for the 2021 edition of Electric Forest. After receiving approval from the Rothbury Village Council for the festival’s June 2021 dates back in January—with alternative dates in August—organizers of Electric Forest have provided an update on the status of this year’s event. In a post shared on the festival’s website today, organizers addressed the uncertainty of the pandemic related to “large gatherings, vaccination timelines, social distancing regulations, general safety, and many other COVID related considerations,” noting they are monitoring the situation closely. “If Electric Forest 2021 is to happen, it will take place in August,” the post reads. Law Firm Files Class Action Suit Against Ultra Miami Organizers to Issue Refunds

A Boca Raton-based consumer rights firm has filed a class action lawsuit against the City of Miami and Event Entertainment Group, the organizers of Ultra Music Festival. Corwin Law is representing a class of Florida residents who purchased tickets to the 2020 edition of the iconic Miami music festival, which was scheduled to take place March 20th to 22nd at Bayfront Park. A press release shared with EDM.com by a consultant representing the firm states that attorney Marcus W. Lollapalooza Paris Postponed to Summer 2022

As live events and festivals begin to set their sights on a brighter post-COVID future in 2021, Lollapalooza Paris has opted to postpone once again amid uncertainty surrounding safety regulations into the summer.  Originally slated for July 17th and 18th, 2021, Lollapalooza’s Paris edition will forgo another year in order to ensure safe operations and a semblance of normalcy in the aftermath of the COVID-19 era. Shambhala Music Festival Postponed to 2022 Due to Uncertainty of COVID-19

Shambhala is the latest music festival to cash in its chips due to the uncertainty of COVID-19. Citing the impact of the pandemic, the organizers of the Canadian dance music fest, which takes place annually at Salmo River Ranch, have pulled the plug on the event’s 2021 edition. Originally scheduled for late July 2020, the festival was eventually moved to August 20-23, 2021 before its postponement to 2022. Ticket-holders may redeem their passes across Shambhala’s 2022, 2023 or 2024 events. Prospective attendees and lodgers were told to expect to receive an email “in the coming months” to register for the year they’d like to attend. Burning Man Organizers Retitle Festival’s 2021 Theme Due to “Colonial History” Links

The organizers of Burning Man have remained hopeful of their ability to provide a 2021 event, announcing a theme earlier this month and issuing a “gentle nudge” to campsite organizers to start planning just last week.  A post appeared in the Burning Man Project‘s blog on March 9th, revealing the theme as well as the meaning behind it. Originally titled “Terra Incognita,” a Latin phrase which translates to “unknown land,” the theme was intended to spark curiosity. EDC Las Vegas 2021 Will Move to October If “Robust Safety Plan” Is Rejected

As electronic music fans continue to clamor for updates about EDC Las Vegas, Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella has provided a crucial update on the promoter’s most popular music festival. In an announcement shared via Instagram, Rotella said Insomniac has submitted a “robust safety plan” to Nevada officials which, if approved by the state, will allow the promoter to move forward with the festival’s dates of May 21st to 23rd. However, he cautioned that if the plan were to be rejected, EDC Las Vegas will be pushed to October 2021. Fans can expect a concrete decision by April 8th.
