Burning Man CEO Provides Detailed Update on Festival’s 2021 Edition

Marian Goodell, the CEO of Burning Man Project, has released a video providing an update on the decision to plan the festival’s 2021 edition. While it is still too soon to know whether or not there will be a gathering on the playa this year, Goodell did provide a timeline on when we can expect a definitive answer. New updates will be released weekly before the final decision, which she said will come between April 23-30. FriendShip and All My Friends proprietor Destructo has announced that he will not compromise on a lower capacity installment of the popular cruise event or music festival. In a tweet, the renowned music producer and entrepreneur announced that he will not hold the FriendShip cruise or All My Friends music festival until pre-COVID attendance levels can be fully achieved. Destructo insists that the conditions must be equal to or better than they were before the COVID-19 pandemic before FriendShip or All My Friends can be planned. The state of California is poised to reopen its economy by summer 2021, but it seems that large-scale music festivals and conventions will remain on hold for much longer.  June 15th remains the target date for statewide reopening without the tiered system, provided that vaccines remain readily available and COVID-19 cases continue to decline. A slew of new job listings posted by major music festival promoter Live Nation seem to have confirmed the May 2021 dates of the company’s flagship event, EDC Las Vegas. In light of the impact of COVID-19, the road to the fest’s 2021 edition has been shrouded in uncertainty. In a late-March announcement, Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella said the promoter submitted a “robust safety plan” to Nevada officials which, if approved by the state, would allow them to move forward with the festival’s planned dates of May 21st to 23rd. Study: EDM is the Most Popular Genre to Listen to Before Bed—But Also the Worst

A new study has found that if you go to bed with music playing, you get a sound sleep. Despite that awful pun, the study offers some eye-opening data on music-related dreams. The Sleep Judge surveyed 1,063 people about their experiences with music-related dreams. 55% of respondents were men and 45% were women, and they ranged in age from 22 to 61 with an average of 36. The analysis found that EDM is the most popular genre of music to listen to late at night before bed among 14% of people. However, it was also delineated as the worst genre to listen to in bed, with 54% of people unable to sleep well and 57% dissatisfied with their sleep.
