After a long and often bitter feud, the organizers of Ultra Music Festival and residents of Downtown Miami have reached an agreement to allay tensions related to local disturbances. Ultra and the Downtown Neighbors Alliance—a neighborhood organization representing a dozen residential communities—have announced that the festival will implement a “community standards program” that addresses a litany of issues such as construction schedules, park closures, traffic management, and noise impact. As North American music festivals return at a dizzying pace, Toronto’s Veld Music Festival has sadly met a different fate. Organizers today announced that the 2021 edition of Veld has been moved to 2022, citing the uncertainty of the pandemic. Headliners Justice, Nina Kraviz and Tchami have already put Lights All Night‘s first ever Puerto Vallarta edition on the 2021 festival roadmap, and the event’s full Phase 1 lineup only sweetens the deal.
