This October, SVDDEN DEATH is inviting fans to descend into darkness with him at the first-ever “Summoning of the Eclipse” event, a curated dubstep and bass music festival. Illiterate Light, an indie duo from Virginia, partnered with Rock The Bike to deliver their vision for a bike-powered stage at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival. The “Bike Stage” marked the first time the technology was implemented in a music festival setting, according to the band’s frontman, Jeff Gorman. The Associated Press reports attendees each took five-minute turns pedaling on the bikes, providing power to the stage from the frontlines. This Nonprofit Is Handing Out Free Narcan at Music Festivals to Combat Fentanyl Poisoning
LISTEN UP, a project launched by non-profit organization This Must Be The Place, is touring around the United States this summer to hand out free Narcan kits and combat opioid overdose. The Columbus, Ohio-based organization was started by Ingela Travers-Hayward and William Perry. Travers-Hayward is an Emmy Award-winning producer who formerly worked with MTV News Canada, and Perry is a reformed felon and victim of opioid addiction who served 10 years in prison after getting caught up in the opioid epidemic.
