C.J. Harris, ‘American Idol’ Alum, Dies at 31

C.J. Harris, a singer who competed on the 2014 season of American Idol, died Sunday at age 31. The Jasper, Alabama, native was reportedly rushed to a local hospital after suffering a medical emergency, according to Variety, and the Walker County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his death. However, no other details, including cause of death, were given as of press time. Fifteen years after its release, Courteeners’ St Jude (via Polydor/UMR) is on track for its first U.K. chart crown.   Originally released in 2008, St Jude peaked at No. 4 on the Official Albums Chart, with three of its tracks going on to impact the U.K. top 40. The British indie rock band has made seven top 10 appearances, including all six of their studio LPs. Until now, Courteeners’ career U.K. chart peak is No. 2 for 2020’s More. Again. Forever. Sudan Archives was the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this evening (January 16). She performed “Homesick (Gorgeous & Arrogant)” from her latest album, Natural Brown Prom Queen, which dropped in September 2022. For the performance, Sudan Archives played violin while singing, and she was joined by a trumpeter, bassist, and drummer who stood on raised pedestals surrounding her onstage. Watch it happen below. Chief Keef’s ‘Almighty So 2’ Release Date Reportedly Postponed Again

Chief Keef’s upcoming project Almighty So 2 has supposedly experienced a postponement in its release date again. According to reports, an update on the project’s Apple Music page claimed that Almighty So 2 will now be releasing on April 14 instead of January 20, marking the second time its release date has been delayed; Keef confirmed in 2022 that the followup will drop on December 16, but it did not appear on streaming services. The mixtape will serve as the sequel to October 2013’s Almighty So, which was hosted by DJ Scream and featured input from Cdai, Tadoe, ISOBeats, OhZone and more. Ray Cordeiro, whose storied career as a DJ spanned seven decades, has passed away at the age of 98, Variety reports. Cordeiro died over the weekend at Hong Kong’s CUHK Medical Centre, with family by his side. He was reportedly sent off with grace to the sound of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Cordeiro wasn’t immediately aware of his calling as a DJ and radio personality. But during his studies in London, the opportunity of a lifetime arose when he was presented with the opportunity to interview The Beatles. Lisa Marie Presley’s three surviving children will inherit Graceland. According to People, following Lisa Marie’s death last week, the Memphis, Tennessee estate will be passed down to her three daughters: actress Riley Keough, 33, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, 14. Graceland was originally passed down to Lisa Marie upon her father Elvis Presley’s own death in 1977. It was subsequently turned into a public museum honoring the legendary musician. Upwards of 650,000 people now visit Graceland annually, and the property is estimated to be worth $500 million.
