Kamal. is the Rising London Musician Turning Heartfelt Memories into Beautiful Melodies

Now we’re in 2023, the Coronavirus pandemic feels like a lifetime ago. But despite life being brought to a standstill during this period, many UK creatives refused to slip into a state of inertia. For musicians, that time of existence was arguably one of the most difficult and confusing periods. Live shows were a no-go, fan interactions were limited to live streams, and any form of in-person networking for up-and-comers was officially out of the window. But for British pop-R&B artist, Kamal., the pandemic would inspire his breakthrough – with the 20-year-old using his music to convey the lonely vulnerability that everyone was experiencing at the time. After experimenting with a piano at an early age – before working with a ukulele – Kamal.’s first live performances – after his successe...

Fall Out Boy capped off a busy day on Tuesday, January 18th by appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform their new single, “Love from the Other Side.” Following guitarist Joe Trohman’s announcement that he was taking a leave of absence, Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, and Andy Hurley played as a trio. For some extra backup, Wentz enlisted some of his biggest fans to don wigs of his signature emo haircut and escort him to the stage. Once he joined Stump and Hurley, the bassist took off his wig to reveal his current blonde tresses and FOB ran through the first single off their newly announced album, So Much (For) Stardust. Stump didn’t seem to skip a beat despite taking greater responsibility on the guitar, and the crowd was visibly enthused by the performance. Watch Fall Out Boy play “Love from...

A Room with a View Star Julian Sands Reported Missing After Hiking in San Bernardino

British actor Julian Sands is one of two hikers who went missing last week in San Bernardino County. Police told ABC 7 that Sands’ family reported him missing on Friday evening and rescue teams have launched a search for him. “His wife did report him missing,” sheriff’s office spokesperson Gloria Huerta told ABC 7. “From what I understand, he left sometime that day for a hike and when he did not return, his family reported him missing.” Sands’ car was still parked in the area when the search began. The ongoing investigation has been difficult, however; unusually severe weather in Southern California means the search has been exclusively handled by air crews, and air resources are limited. 50 Most Anticipated Albums of 2023

No one really should have been shocked by how music unfolded in 2022. Everyone — everyone — was raring to get back out there. Artists that had sat on completed records for two years were finally able to share them with the world, while those who had spent their time cooped up writing new material had fresh songs ready to go. Still, it felt like there was an inundation of albums, which begs the question: Is there anything left for 2023? Dumb question. Of course there is. With the industry’s wheels turning at full capacity again, we have new music to look forward to from all corners of the landscape. Long-anticipated efforts from Gorillaz, Miley Cyrus, The Smashing Pumpkins, and (fingers crossed) Rihanna are expected. Icons like Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel, The Cure, and Shania Twain (!) are...
