Celebrity style obsessions come and go, but some seem to last forever. In the days of Dawson’s Creek, Joey Potter’s (aka Katie Holmes’s) love for denim never failed to inspire us. Now, 18 years on, Katie has definitely found her fashion mojo. She hadn’t ever lost it, but this time, it’s extra good. Of course, A-listers go in and out of the limelight as they, well, get on with their lives, but Katie has become one of the most photographed celebrities of late, even in the midst of lockdown. Her resurgence was confirmed when she stepped out in one particular outfit back in 2019—her now-iconic Khaite cashmere bra-and-cardigan combo. This may not sound like a thing, but believe us. She made it one, and the look instantly went viral.&nb...
As far as fashionable footwear is concerned, the prominence of Birkenstock Arizona sandals is nothing new. The style has been around for years (since 1973 in fact) and is heralded as one of the comfiest options available. Then, arguably due to the pandemic, it became the world’s second most-wanted item of clothing in 2020, after Off-White’s face mask. According to Lyst, the global fashion search platform, it was the designer collaborations with Valentino, Proenza Schouler, and Rick Owens that helped to boost the brand’s profile but I’d also wager that the time spent inside combined with needing shoes we can go for walks in boosted the shoe’s desirability even futher. Celebrities agree too, including Katie Holmes, Gigi Hadid and Alexa Chung, who ove...
I hope Katie Holmes never leaves NYC. The reason? I would really miss seeing how she dresses for all four seasons on a regular basis, but especially how she dresses in the winter. Her outerwear collection is just so good, and she rarely repeats coats, which is very impressive. (When I lived in New York, I’m pretty sure I wore the same two coats all winter.) While out for a walk a few days ago, Holmes choose a Mango coat, which we love to see to begin with—but even more so given that it retails for less than £100. Not only that, the coat is a quilted style which is a huge trend this winter. And she opted to pair it with another huge trend: chunky loafers. It’s the only flat shoe trend that matters this season, folks. And her shoes are almost as affordable as her c...

There’s something particularly alluring about timeless fashion. I’m always in awe of the kind of outfits you can look at and not necessarily pinpoint what year, decade, or era they’re from. Made from a combination of classic items—be it straight-leg jeans, button-down shirts, chunky knitwear, or open-toe shoes—these looks rely on the forever-favourite wardrobe heroes we wear again and again, season after season. When it comes to celebrity style, I love stumbling across an image of someone who has been famous for years (think Jennifer Aniston or Naomi Campbell) and playing a silent, internal guessing game about when the photo was taken. For those celebrities who subscribe to a timeless aesthetic, this game can be more difficult than you’d think. ...
Here at Who What Wear, we love to support British labels. It’s even better when they’re homegrown and sustainably-minded. Add an affordable price-point into the mix and you have the ultimate fashion triple threat. London-based label, Nobody’s Child is just that. The brand prides itself on its eco-conscious ethos, which includes partnerships with ethical factories and a focus on zero-waste manufacturing. Evidently, we aren’t the only ones who have noticed that Nobody’s Child is a brand on the rise, as celebrities from Fearne Cotton to Holly Willoughby and Candice Brathwaite are also champions of the label. This week, Cotton uploaded an image of herself wearing the brand’s heart print mini shirt dress for an appearance on The One ...
While traditionally the beginning of the year marks award show season with red carpets taking place on almost a weekly basis, it comes as no surprise that January 2021 looks a little different to year’s past. With fancy events and exclusive premieres off the cards for the foreseeable future, we are no longer looking to celebrity style and seeing custom-made designer gowns or shimmering jewels with eye-wateringly high price tags. No, the celeb style of 2021 is far more attainable and honestly, we’re not complaining. Of course, when it comes to star style Katie Holmes is on the top of our watch list, thanks to her running streak of fabulous casual ensembles. While in previous years, Katie Holmes would spend January walking red carpets in designs by ...
It hardly comes as a surprise that The Crown season four has reignited the world’s fascination with all things Princess Diana. Perfectly encapsulating the royal’s natural charm, Emma Corrin’s depiction of Lady Di was nothing short of fascinating. And of course, along with our renewed interest in Diana’s life has come a renewed interest in her ever-adored personal style. Season four predominantly takes places throughout the 1980s, depicting the early years of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage. It was an era in which shoulder pads and feathered hair reigned supreme, and as the fashion-conscious royal she was, Diana partook in several of the decade’s most iconic styles. Given the media adoration, fashion industry attention or overall constant press coverage, there is no denying that Princess Diana was an absolute style icon in her day. Between her haircuts and her outfits, Lady Di’s looks were loved and emulated the world over in the eighties and early nineties. Though the true test of her fashion icon status is undoubtedly the fact that we’re still talking about her style more than twenty years later. From the boxy blazers to the Versace mini dresses, several of the late royal’s most iconic looks feel more relevant than ever in 2021, and that is only supported by the fact we keep seeing influencers and fashion devotees in reimagined versions of her past outfits. From checkerboard print trousers to kni...
If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say that many of us spent much more time in front of the television this year than we ever have before. In a year like no other, where restrictions were in place limiting interactions, work commutes became virtually obsolete and even leaving the house was largely discouraged, our living rooms became safe havens and our TVs filled the social calendar. Luckily, there was many an option when it came to quality TV and often a weeknight marathon would result in more than just entertainment. It would also leave us feeling sartorially inspired. From Zoë Kravtiz’s incredibly cool character in High Fidelity to the glitz and glamour of the costumes on Netflix’s Hollywood, these shows transported us to worlds i...
Since the season four premiere of The Crown, the world’s fascination with Princess Diana’s style has undoubtedly been reignited. From the rise of Instagram accounts like @ladydirevengelooks to staggering statistics presented by LikeToKnowIt, it is obvious that Princess Diana’s status as a style icon is as strong as ever. Even anecdotally, it seems that everywhere we look stylish women are emulating Diana’s style (whether consciously or not). From her much-photographed athletic looks of bike shorts and oversized sweatshirts to her casual attire of jeans, blazers and knee-high boots, Diana’s most-famous outfit formulas seem to be on high-rotation for influencers right now.
