Jigawa State House of Assembly has on Tuesday passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill of N156.588 billion. This followed the adoption of a 2021 appropriation committee’s report led by the House Committee on Appreciation chairman, Hon. Suleiman Kadara, at plenary. Kadara, who is representing Guri Constituency, told the House that the committee had done justice to the appropriation bill presented by Gov. Muhammad Badaru to the house on Nov. 4. Badaru had sought the consideration of the House to appropriate the sum of N156.588 billion for the services of the Jigawa State Government during the period of Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2021. No fewer than 25 persons killed and more than 51,000 houses destroyed by heavy rainfall in Jigawa. Gov. Muhammad Badaru, made the disclosure while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Dutse. The governor, however, said he could not immediately give the exact number of casualties, adding: “You see to put the number of how many people died, you see this keep increasing. “The last count we had was between 20 and 25. Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa says the 96 megawatts capacity Gagarawa power transmission substation is set for inauguration in three weeks time. The governor, who made this known during an inspection of the substation along with Minister of Power, Mr Saleh Mamman, on Saturday said that the project would propel industrial development in the state. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Federal Government had through the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) awarded the project for construction of 2x60MVA, 132/33kV substation at Gagarawa in 2012.
