Secrets Are Fatal in New Trailer for Women Talking: Watch

Orion Pictures and Plan B Entertainment have today shared a new trailer for Women Talking, the upcoming drama film based on Miriam Toews’ 2018 novel of the same name and inspired by harrowing real-life events. Though the costumes wouldn’t suggest so, Women Talking takes place in 2010, following a group of women who live in an isolated Mennonite colony. When the women realize that the men in their colony have been sexually abusing them for years, they must reckon with their strict Anabaptist views within their harsh new reality. “We know that we’ve not imagined these attacks,” one of the women, Salome (Claire Foy), says tearily in the trailer. “We know that we are bruised and infected and pregnant and some of us are dead.” Another woman, Ona (Rooney Mara), concurs: “We c...

Ghostface Stalks Jenna Ortega in Scream 6 Trailer: Watch

Before Jenna Ortega starred as the unflappable Wednesday Addams, she survived Ghostface in the Scream “requel.” She’s set to reprise her role as Tara Carpenter in Scream 6, and judging by the teaser trailer, moving to New York City wasn’t enough to start a fresh chapter. The slasher flick naturally takes place on Halloween, when Tara is on the subway with her friends and half-sister Sara (Melissa Barrera). As a Ghostface mask-wearing figure approaches, the lights go out, and so the action begins. Watch the full Scream 6 teaser trailer and see the movie poster below. Though Scream veteran Courteney Cox is returning as Gale Weathers for the latest installment, Neve Campbell won’t be appearing in Scream 6. Back in June, Campbell revealed that she received and turned d...

New Clip for Super Mario Bros. Movie Offers Tantalizing Preview (Chris Pratt Notwithstanding): Watch

Thus far, the trailers for the animated Super Mario Bros. movie have avoided highlighting Chris Pratt’s Mario voice, but the first extended clip somewhat changes all that. In between a lot of huffing and puffing, we get to hear a bit more of the maligned actor’s portrayal of the heroic plumber as Toad (Keegan-Michael Key) leads him through an awe-inspiring tour of Mushroom Kingdom. “This guy’s brother is going to die imminently!” Toad exclaims while clearing a path. Soon enough, the duo hit an elevator platform. “Whoa! Okay, so these bricks are just floatin’ here?” Pratt exclaims in a faux New Yawk accent, his voice cracking in the process. Mario gets even more confused when Toad tells him to hop into a warp pipe. “It’s the only way to fly,” Toad explains. “Oh wow, love these pipes,” ...

Robot Doll Goes on Killing Spree in New Trailer for M3GAN: Watch

Bella Poarch’s “Dolls” alludes to revenge with lines like, “Think that you can play with me, you better watch your back,” making it the perfect soundtrack for the latest trailer for the Blumhouse horror film M3GAN. In the clip, the titular AI-powered doll breaks free from her programming and goes on a murdering spree. Like most robots in fiction, M3GAN (short for Model 3 Generative Android) was made with good intentions. A toy company roboticist named Gemma (Allison Williams) created the doll to be the ultimate companion for children and gives a prototype to her orphaned niece Cady (The Haunting of Hill House’s Violet McGraw) to be both a protector and a companion. It’s exactly M3GAN’s protective instincts that cause the doll to commit her first murder after a bully won’t leave Cady alone....

Jonah Hill Gets Grilled by Eddie Murphy in Trailer for Netflix’s You People: Watch

Asking a father for permission to marry his daughter is hard enough, but as Jonah Hill finds out in the teaser trailer for Kenya Barris’ feature directorial debut You People, Eddie Murphy is a particularly tough nut to crack. In the preview of the Netflix comedy, Hill’s Ezra Cohen sits down with his partner Amira Mohammed’s (Lauren London) parents, played by Murphy and Nia Long, at the Los Angeles landmark Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. Self-conscious about growing up in a different faith and cultural background, Hill’s character can’t stop digging a hole for himself during the conversation. To be fair, he’s put on the defensive from the beginning. “Do you hang out in the hood all the time or do you just come here for our food and women?” Murphy asks. Later on, Hill says “mixed race people ...

Mario Gets Beat Up by Donkey Kong in New Trailer for Super Mario Bros. Movie: Watch

Now that we’ve established Chris Pratt’s portrayal of Mario in the animated Super Mario Bros. movie sounds more like Pratt himself rather than an exaggerated Italian stereotype, we can focus on the second trailer, which features the heroic plumber getting his ass kicked by Seth Rogen’s Donkey Kong. Besides that, we get a first look at Anya Taylor-Joy’s ever-wise Mushroom Kingdom ruler Princess Peach, who rallies a troop of familiar faces against Mario’s archnemesis Bowser (played by a scene-stealing Jack Black). “I’m not sure you know who I am, but I’m about to rule the world,” Bowser tells Mario’s twin brother and sidekick Luigi, voiced by Charlie Day. It sure sounds like Black channeled the mindset he teased for the character in an interview with Consequence: “Hey Pratt-Pr...
