Bret Michaels Hospitalized, Poison Misses ‘Stadium Tour’ Gig in Nashville

Poison frontman Bret Michaels was hospitalized yesterday (June 30) in Nashville “due to an unforeseen medical complication,” forcing the band to cancel its performance in Music City as part of its Stadium Tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Joan Jett and Classless Act. “To all the incredible fans in Nashville, thank you for all your well wishes!!” Michaels, 59, wrote on his Instagram account. “I was truly fired up to get on stage in the Music City and perform, but due to an unforeseen medical complication and following hospitalization, it was not possible. I send my deepest apologies for being unable to rock the stage tonight. I’m working on being back 100% very soon and hope you rocked hard with my friends Motley/Leppard/Joan and Classless Act!!!” According to TMZ, Michaels “may have had ...

Motley Crue Jams With MGK at Stadium Tour Kickoff in Atlanta

Motley Crue teamed with surprise guest Machine Gun Kelly last night (June 16) at Atlanta’s Truist Park Stadium for their first live performance of “The Dirt (Est. 1981),” the artists’ 2019 collaboration from the biopic The Dirt. MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, portrayed Crue drummer Tommy Lee in the film. The show was the first in the oft-postponed Stadium tour, which also features Def Leppard, Joan Jett and Poison. Crue drummer Tommy Lee was forced to exit five songs into the performance due to having suffered four broken ribs two weeks earlier. “I wish I had a fuckin’ badass story like me and Conor McGregor fuckin’ scrapping out in some fuckin’ bar or something, but I don’t,” Crue told the crowd without elaborating on how exactly he was injured in the first place. Lee was replaced ...

Sebastian Stan Is a One-Man Mötley Crüe

Mötley Crüe ruled the metal scene in the late ‘80s, going on to sell over 100 million records. However, by the time Sebastian Stan was the right age to appreciate the glam band, the metal heyday had passed. “Unfortunately, I didn’t really know Mötley Crüe when I was growing up,” Stan says, “because when I was in high school, it was already a grunge world.” But that didn’t stop the Romanian-born actor from discovering the band later, telling SPIN, “I personally gravitate towards the ’80s.” So, despite not growing up on the iconic group, he eventually came to love them. Eventually becoming intimately familiar with one of the band members by playing him on TV. Stan, 39, is currently garnering praise for his portrayal of Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in the Hulu drama Pam and Tommy, a fictionalized r...

Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Poison, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Announce Rescheduled Stadium Tour

The monsters of ’80s rock are back. After two years of cancelations, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Poison, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are finally ready to rock down stadiums across the U.S. and Canada. The iconic co-headliners are kicking off the massive run in June, and emerging rock band Classless Act is scheduled to support. “I remember when we went out with Ozzy in 1984 and how it was an insane game changer!!” Mötley Crüe’s drummer (and subject of Pam and Tommy Hulu series), Tommy Lee, who was an early follower of Classless Act said. “We literally blew up after having that opportunity to play live in front of 20,000 people every f***ing night! Since then, we’ve always felt it was important to help new bands; whether it was Guns N Roses, Skid Row or so many others. This summer we’re ...

Eddie Vedder Responds to Nikki Sixx With Tommy Lee Jab

After Nikki Sixx hit back at him over the weekend in a tweet (and back-and-forth with fans), Eddie Vedder took another not-so-subtle swipe at Mötley Crüe. This time, instead of focusing on the band, the target of Vedder’s jab was Tommy Lee. At last night’s New Jersey show with Vedder’s solo band, the Earthlings, he decided to poke fun at the drummer’s intricate kit that is mounted on a roller-coaster track. Lee had this track custom-built to allow him to soar over the audience while performing (and if you remember, this happened). Anyway, during Chad Smith’s drum solo at the Earthlings concert, Vedder called out Lee by saying “That drum kit – that silver, beautiful machine that he is the engine of – does not need to elevate or rotate to do its job. Let me just point that out!” [embedded co...

Nikki Sixx Hits Back at Pearl Jam After Eddie Vedder’s Criticism of Mötley Crüe: ‘They’re One of the Most Boring Bands in History’

There hasn’t been a good rock band spat in…forever? Well, that has certainly changed! Eddie Vedder gave a lengthy interview to the New York Times last weekend (which was very interesting and wide-ranging) ahead of his new solo album, Earthling. In the interview, Vedder described working at a club in San Diego during the late ’80s where he’d load in band’s gear. “I’d end up being at shows that I wouldn’t have chosen to go to — bands that monopolized late-’80s MTV,” Vedder said. “The metal bands that — I’m trying to be nice — I despised. ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ and Mötley Crüe: Fuck you. I hated it. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look. It felt so vacuous.” Now, Nikki Sixx has hit back. In a tweet, Sixx expressed his displeasure and mocked Vedder an...

Mötley Crüe Sells Entire Catalog to BMG

Mötley Crüe has sold their entire catalog to BMG. The amount has been reported to be in the nine figures and is the company’s largest single catalog acquisition since it was founded in 2008. A spokesperson for BMG declined to comment on the dollar amount of the deal. The agreement includes all nine of the band’s studio albums beginning with their 1981 debut, Too Fast for Love, through their latest, 2008’s Saints of Los Angeles, along with several live records and compilation collections. “Mötley Crüe stand among the pantheon of rock legends, the band’s legacy is tremendous and their fans avid,” BMG SVP Catalog Recordings Michael Kachko said in a statement. “You can be sure that we will lavish all the respect and love for the music that BMG is recognized for to deliver current and future fa...
