Jared Leto Made Morbius Crew Wait While Using Fake Crutches to Go to Bathroom

Jared Leto’s commitment to method acting has wreaked havoc on another movie set. In an interview with Uproxx, Morbius director Daniel Espinosa confirmed the actor was so determined to stay in character that he used his crutches to go to the bathroom, slowing down production so much that the crew instead opted to push him to the bathroom in a wheelchair. Leto’s character, known as the Living Vampire, suffers from a rare blood disease that affects his movement. In the interview, a tight-lipped Espinosa — who does his best to keep his head held high despite the film’s terrible reviews — defended Leto’s decision to use the crutches on set, arguing that it helped the actor really understand the pain his character lives with. “I think that what Jared thinks, what Jared believes, is tha...

Morbius Review: Maybe It’s Time for Sony to Give Marvel Back Its Toys

The Pitch: The first trailer for Morbius, the newest effort by Sony Pictures to hold onto the Marvel characters to which it still owns the rights, originally premiered in January 2020, in anticipation of its planned July 2020 premiere. That premiere didn’t happen for, y’know, reasons, but in the literal years since, new trailers for the film have continued to appear online and in theaters, with one of them buttoned by a reasonably funny joke: Its central character, in full monster face, growling “I… am… Venom!” at a thug, then abruptly shifting to a smile to say, “I’m just kidding! Dr. Michael Morbius, at your service.” That moment didn’t just name-drop a previous Sony/Marvel collaboration, but showcased a clever reversal on expectations, not to mention star Jared Leto doling out some very...

Peep The Final Trailer To Sony’s ‘Morbius’

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Courtesy of Sony Pictures / Sony After years of getting pushed back due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Morbius is finally about to hit theaters and today Sony has dropped the final trailer to the Spider-Man spinoff before it’s April 1st release date. In the latest trailer to Morbius, we basically get what we’ve seen before with scenes of how Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) went from a man on death’s door to becoming an blood craving vampire in an attempt to cure himself of his disease, but it does seem like Michael Keaton will be playing a larger role than originally thought. Seemingly coming off as an ally to Michael Morbius, Keaton (who may or may not be playing The Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming), advises Morbius to “discover who you’re meant to be...

‘Morbius’ Shelved By Sony Again Until Spring

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Courtesy of Sony Pictures / Sony Fans looking forward to the latest spin-off movie in the Spider-Man universe, Morbius featuring Jared Leto will have to wait a while longer, as it has been delayed once again. The announcement was made by Sony yesterday (January 3rd), citing the prevalence of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus that is surging across the United States and worldwide. Originally set to open on January 28th, the studio has now pushed its premiere to April 1st which makes it Sony’s flagship vehicle for the Easter portion of the theater release schedule. Morbius was first scheduled to make its debut for audiences in July 2020, but was caught up with other blockbuster films in having to change plans as movie theaters shuttered due to the onse...

Jared Leto’s Morbius Delayed Yet Again

It’s starting to feel like this vampire will never see the light of day. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Jared Leto’s Spider-Man spinoff Morbius has been delayed yet again, with the January 28th release date pushed back to April 1st. Morbius was originally slated for July 31st, 2020, although the COVID-19 pandemic scuttled those plans. The eternal optimists at Sony had initially rescheduled the movie for March 19th, 2021, before giving up on last year and sinking their teeth into January 2022. Now, with the Omicron variant leading to record case counts, they’re going to try again on April Fool’s Day, which is probably a coincidence, right? It’s not a years-long practical joke because this movie exists, right? They released a trailer and then a second trailer, so i...
