The next season of Saturday Night Live is going to look a little different from what we’re used to, but not every one is leaving. Following the news earlier this month that Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, and Kyle Mooney were all departing the show, Weekend Update anchor Michael Che said he “[doesn’t] have any plans to leave just yet.” “I think I’m staying,” Che told The Ringer’s Bill Simmons on his self-titled podcast. “I never know, it’s hard. Source: photo: WENN Now that HBO MAX has brought back Sesame Street and announced the upcoming release of the long rumored Snyder Cut of the Justice League, they’re setting their eyes on some new material and Saturday Night Live‘s Michael Che is about to cash in on their growing library of original programming. Vulture is reporting that the Brooklyn comedian has just inked a deal with the new streaming service for a six-episode sketch-comedy series in which he will star and pen himself. Ever the trailblazer, Dave Chappelle has proven it’s possible to host a safe outdoor music festival in the middle of a pandemic. As BrooklynVegan points out, Chappelle celebrated Fourth of July by holding a mini music festival in the cornfields of Yellow Springs, Ohio on Saturday night. As recounted by comedian Cipha Sounds, the six-hour event kicked off with standup comedy from Michelle Wolf, Tiffany Haddish, Michael Che, and Chappelle himself. Questlove then provided the soundtrack for a fireworks display with an all J. Dilla DJ set.
