A Boca Raton-based consumer rights firm has filed a class action lawsuit against the City of Miami and Event Entertainment Group, the organizers of Ultra Music Festival. Corwin Law is representing a class of Florida residents who purchased tickets to the 2020 edition of the iconic Miami music festival, which was scheduled to take place March 20th to 22nd at Bayfront Park. A press release shared with EDM.com by a consultant representing the firm states that attorney Marcus W. Corwin believes the promoters of the event “disguised” its 2020 cancellation as a postponement and unfairly offered an enhanced benefits package in lieu of refunds. Corwin called the offer “utterly unacceptable.” The eight-count class action lawsuit, filed in t...

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Some folk just have to get their party on, even during a pandemic. The latest, and certainly not the last, to make such a questionable decision is Sean “Diddy” Combs, who threw a birthday bash for his son Justin’s 27th birthday in Miami. Nope, it was not an intimate gathering in the slightest. According to TMZ it went down Wednesday night (Dec. 30) in Miami, Florida, and there wasn’t a mask in sight—besides the servers. Per TMZ: Diddy led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Justin during the Wednesday night celebration that started at Swan restaurant, and eventually moved to Victory Restaurant & Lounge. Both joints were packed to the gills with folks popping bottles and a custom Dior cake for Justin. It’s 2020, so the first thing that hits y...
Polls in US battleground states began to close on Tuesday, inching the contest between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden to its nail-biting conclusion, following a race fought in unprecedented conditions of a global pandemic and the most deeply divided electorate in decades. At 7:00 pm (0000 GMT), voting ended in Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, and also Georgia, a formerly rock-solid Republican state that Biden’s Democrats hope to flip. CNN and NBC already projected a win for Trump in Indiana. Parts of Florida — an even bigger electoral prize that routinely sees knife-edge elections — were also closing at 7:00 pm. Polls in the rest of the state and also in Pennsylvania, another ground zero in US presidential contests, were closing at 8:00 pm (0100 GMT). What was no...

Since March the nightlife hotspot, which in the last ten years has become a must-visit for any rapper that is in town, has been closed since March due to the pandemic. In June, the city gave the green light for restaurants to reopen but for many the move was premature. The events guru revealed that he too thought that the coronavirus wasn’t going to be a concern for long. “We thought the world was back,” he explained. “I was naïve enough t...
Source: INSTARimages.com / WENN While some cities continue to party like its 1999 some areas are still fighting for their lives against COVID-19. One area is being slowly decimated. As spotted on Raw Story(via the Miami Herald), the city of Miami is seemingly losing the battle against the pandemic. According to the report, there is a huge race gap when it comes to confirmed cases that the data is showing but fails to make national headlines on major media outlets. In the last couple of weeks several Haitians have succumbed to the disease, at the time of this story there 100+ documented deaths stemming from Coronavirus. “The stigma is huge,” said South Florida Dr. Sidney Coupet. “A patient who I treated in the hospital, they discharged her. She beat COVID. The way she was speaking to m...
Parisians were treated to a floating movie theater adventure this past weekend. Apparently it went swimmingly because now a different company, Beyond Cinema, is bringing a similar idea to America. Starting this September, Beyond Cinema will launch 12 to 24 mini boats — each of which can hold upwards of eight people — in US cities. Movies will be projected on a large screen outdoors near the water, and patrons can pay to watch the film in comfort from one of the floating vessels. The Australian entertainment and event company originally found success with their “boat-in” events back during pre-COVID times. Once the current pandemic set in, though, they decided to modify the event to uphold safety measures while still capitalizing on this creative way to keep movie lovers entertained. O...
