A lawyer, Fazaz Daud, has written a petition to the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, asking for his urgent intervention over the replacement of his client, one Osularu Olabanjo Muyiwa, who was said to have won the All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship primaries for Ward 5, Iperu-Remo. PDP cautions Zamfara governor, lawmakers over plan to defect to APC

The Peoples Democratic Party has cautioned the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, and those of the National Assembly from the state against defecting to the All Progressives Congress. Newsmen reported that Matawalle will dump the PDP for the APC tomorrow. Reacting, the PDP stated that Matawalle defecting to the APC amounts to a decision to vacate office. Two injured in church bomb blast in eastern DR Congo

A makeshift bomb exploded inside a Catholic church in the city of Beni in the DR Congo’s conflict-plagued east on Sunday, injuring two just an hour before a children’s Confirmation ceremony was due to be held. The head of police in Beni’s town hall Narcisse Muteba Kashale told AFP that the explosion occurred at 06:00 and that experts from the UN’s mission to DR Congo had told “us it is a home-made bomb, a bomb that was set up for an ambush”. The Minister for Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been suspended by the Presidential Support Committee (PSC), a political support group of the All Progressive Progressives Congress (APC) as the National Coordinator. Akpabio was suspended for inactivity and poor leadership by the national delegates at their National General Meeting and Merit Award held yesterday at Barcelona Hotel, Abuja. Two ‘criminals’ lynched in Benue

Two suspected criminals including a motorcycle thief and an alleged cultist have been lynched in two separate incidences in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. Kwara to establish multi-billion naira cancer treatment centre

Kwara State Government has announced plans to establish a multi-billion naira Cancer treatment Centre to be situated at the Ilorin General Hospital. Police: Jigawa man foils kidnap attempt by fake NDLEA operatives

The Police Command in Jigawa has arrested three kidnap suspects in Hadejia Local Government Area of the state, the command spokesperson, ASP Lawan Shiisu, has said.
