mau5trap and Insomniac Records Unveil Second Collaborative Compilation

Last year, mau5trap and Insomniac Records collaborated on their first compilation, which featured the likes of Golf Clap, MASTERIA, Dustycloud, and many more. Just over a year later, the EDM titans have joined forces once more for their second volume, mau5trap x Insomniac Records.  As most would expect, the firepower on this compilation is just as impressive as the previous one. Both mau5trap and Insomniac Records have solidified their positions as tastemaker labels and this compilation proves why. The diversity throughout all 12 tracks is unmatched, showcasing the vast array of talents these two imprints can gather.  Tommy Trash‘s “4U” is as dark and grimy as they come, mixing crawling synths with crunchy basslines for a stunning single. No Mana&...

deadmau5 to Launch mau5trap.tv Streaming Platform with Exclusive Set from TESTPILOT Alias

As deadmau5 continues to test the waters of the drive-in rave scene, the venerated DJ and producer is now steering into the virtual concert space with the launch of his own livestreaming platform, mau5trap.tv. The live music streaming landscape in the US has only become more robust with each passing week as the country struggles to reduce the impact of COVID-19. With no nightclubs or festivals to turn to, what started out as a pie-in-the-sky idea has now mutated into the new norm, as legions of music producers and DJs have opted to funnel their sound into the blue light of user’s devices in the absence of tours. The lingering question, though, is how to monetize the streams beyond simple advertising campaigns. The launch of mau5trap.tv will be commemorated by a can’t-...

EDDIE Paints an Electro Dreamscape with “Somewhere In Between” [Premiere]

This piece of melodic electro feels like a nostalgic hug. EDDIE is here to lull you into an electro dreamscape with his new single “Somewhere In Between” featuring Colleen D’Agostino, out now via mau5trap.  After throwing down hard-hitting electro over the last few years, the Australian DJ and producer opted to switch up the pace, showcasing his melodic side to his fans. The hypnotic production conjures up the emotion felt post-rave when you are laying with a loved one and reminiscing. The intoxicating synth work paired with D’Agostino’s lush vocals feels like a time warp back to the days of old deadmau5 hits. It’s a welcoming sense of nostalgia while still remaining unique. Since joining the mau5trap family back in 2017, EDDIE has ma...

Oliver Heldens Revives HI-LO Alias for Latest Single “Zeus”

Heldeep label head Oliver Heldens has reawakened his alter ego, HI-LO, after a 9-month hiatus for a triumphant return with “Zeus,” released today via mau5trap.  Minimalistic yet hypnotic due to its unrelenting bassline, “Zeus” stays true to the sound that Heldens has consistently cultivated under his HI-LO alias. The track clocks in at just over five minutes, which is more than enough time to get lost in its mystifying melodies and snappy percussion. Those who found themselves rinsing his previous tracks “Poseidon” or “LazersX999” will surely gravitate towards the dark, enchanting feel of “Zeus.” Heldens took fans by surprise when he first released “Crank It Up” as HI-LO through Mad Decent in 2015. Since...

i_o Explores His Soft Side with New Project AM 444

Take a guess at i_o‘s favorite number. His recent project, a three-part series of four songs each, is titled 444, if that’s any clue. Its third and final installment, titled AM 444, was announced today and is due out May 29th. It will also be the first set of songs to be created with alt-pop artist Lights, perhaps best known in EDM f...
