She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Is as Funny, Charming, and Occasionally Awkward as Its Heroine: Review

The Pitch: What if there was a lady… who was also a Hulk? And also a lawyer? Yeah, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law pretty much tells you exactly what the show is from the start. Quite literally, in fact: The newest Marvel series to come down the Disney+ pipeline features newly minted meta-human Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) speaking directly to the audience about how her life recently got upended by an accidental exposure to her cousin Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo)’s blood. Because Jen and Bruce are related, Jen’s able to survive the sudden infusion of gamma particles into her system, and she also manages to get a handle on being a Hulk with a working human brain relatively quickly. But while she’s learning control over her new persona (with the advantages and disadvantages that accompany it)...

Mark Ruffalo Says Too Much Marvel Better Than Getting “The Same Version of Star Wars Each Time”

Marvel has released two films and two TV shows this year, with one more of each on the horizon. They also dropped a series of Groot animated shorts, and there are still two Disney+ specials on the way. That’s a slow year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point; there are four films and six shows on the schedule for 2023. But one of the franchise’s stars, Mark Ruffalo, isn’t concerned with Marvel over-saturation — because at least it’s not Star Wars. Speaking with UK’s Metro about his return to playing Hulk in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Ruffalo said too much Marvel content is “not something I worry about.” He noted that big franchises like this always “run their course” and get replaced by something new, but praised Marvel for its variety. “The thing Marvel has done w...

Marvel’s Kevin Feige Teases Harry Styles’ Return as Eros to Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is teasing Harry Styles‘ return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Eros, also known as Starfox, is the brother of supervillain Thanos. In the brief clip, Styles appears alongside the small, furry CGI character Pip, who is voiced by Patton Oswalt. During an interview at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Feige hinted that Styles’ would return as Eros in the “cosmic” part of the MCU, but didn’t specify any specific films or television shows. Tatiana Maslany’s Looking a Little Green in Full She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Trailer: Watch

There has been no shortage of Disney+ Marvel content this year, and the expanding Marvel universe continues to explode exponentially. So, with the critically-acclaimed Ms. Marvel having come to a close, it’s time to make way for Marvel’s newest hero — who also happens to be a lawyer. We already got our first look at She-Hulk: Attorney at Law earlier this year, which will introduce Avenger Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo)’s cousin, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), who is both a young attorney and also, well, a Hulk. But Saturday, during Marvel’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, we got a full trailer, as well as the tease that Charlie Cox would be appearing in the show once again as lawyer Matt Murdock/blind superhero Daredevil. Plus, Doctor Strange‘s Benedict Wong will return as fan-...

Daredevil: Born Again: Marvel Officially Announces Disney+ Series Starring Charlie Cox

Marvel has officially announced Daredevil: Born Again, an 18-episode Disney+ series based on the classic Frank Miller comic storyline. The unveiling came during Marvel head Kevin Feige’s preview of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at Comic-Con. Daredevil: Born Again will arrive in Spring of 2024, and — big news for big Daredevil fans — Charlie Cox will reprise the role of Matt Murdock. Better yet, Vincent D’Onofrio will return as the brutal villain Kingpin. This will hardly be the end of Daredevil’s involvement in the MCU. Cox will be lending his voice to the character in the animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and the new trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law confirmed that the hero in red will soon be seeing green. New Avengers and MCU Fantastic Four Movies Confirmed, Release Dates Announced

As expected, Marvel rolled out some huge news during its hour at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, with mastermind Kevin Feige essentially rolling out what to expect from Phases 4-6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Key to that announcement was the long-awaited confirmation that a new Fantastic Four was in the works for 2024, and that Phase 6 of the MCU would include two new Avengers films: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Adaptations of Fantastic Four have of course been attempted multiple times in recent years, when the rights to those characters were still owned by an independent Fox. But this would be the Four’s first official entry into the current MCU (beyond John Krasinski’s cameo as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness). Fantastic Four ...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Teaser Trailer Unveiled at Comic-Con: Watch

The road to a Black Panther sequel has certainly not been easy, but Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is finally set to arrive on November 11th. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel revealed the first thrilling look at the film. Plot details have been kept under wraps, and fans have wondered where the franchise will go following the death of star Chadwick Boseman in 2020. The new teaser offers few hints except that Angela Bassett’s character Rowanda seems to be taking on some of the responsibilities, announcing, “I am queen of the most powerful nation in the world.” The trailer is soundtracked by a mournful cover of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “No Woman No Cry,” that’s remixed with Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright.” Lamar executive produced the excellent soundtrack to the o...

Charlie Cox Will Voice Daredevil in Spider-Man: Freshman Year

In news that could have broad implications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Charlie Cox will voice Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, in the animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year. Marvel revealed the casting choice at Comic Con, where they also unveiled that the series is set for release in 2024. Cox played the role on Daredevil (2015–2018), The Defenders (2017), and in the film Spider-Man: No Way Home. A fan favorite, Cox’s future in the MCU has been much discussed. Keeping him in the role — even for an animated series aimed at a younger crowd — would seem to suggest that Marvel has big plans for his future. Marvel mastermind Kevin Feige hinted at as much last year. “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil...

Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan Headed to Disney+

Christian Bale Confirms “Kate Bush Stuff” Was Cut from Thor: Love and Thunder

Looks like Kate Bush couldn’t make a deal with Gorr the God Butcher. According to Christian Bale, the singer’s music was supposed to be featured somehow in Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, but didn’t made the final cut. “Taika [Waititi] and I wanted to do a whole dance, which we didn’t get to do, but we had all this sort of Kate Bush stuff that we worked at,” the actor revealed in a new interview with Deadline. “I think he just realized he was never going to be allowed to put that in the final film.” He added, “I would say that the most common thing I was staring at [while preparing for the role] was the Aphex Twin video of ‘Come to Daddy.’ But I don’t even know if that will be in the final film.” Advertisement Related Video He also revealed in a recent interview that when he agre...

Marvel Developing Villain Team-Up Movie Thunderbolts with Director Jake Schreier

Marvel fans have seen this coming for a while now, but reports indicate the studio is officially developing a villain team-up movie called Thunderbolts. Think of it like Marvel’s version of The Suicide Squad, only without the exploding heads. According to Deadline, the “top-secret” project has tapped Jake Schreier to helm the film. In Hollywood, Schreier may be best known for directing 2012’s Robot & Frank and episodes of both Dave and Lodge 49, but he cut his teeth in music videos. He’s directed videos for the likes of Kanye West (“Follow God,” “Closed on Sunday”) and HAIM (“Want You Back”), in addition to Chance the Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring World concert film. Black Widow screenwriter Eric Pearson is also onboard to write the script. Advertisement In the comics, o...
