Ant-Man 3 Casts Lovecraft Country’s Jonathan Majors as Marvel’s Newest Supervillain
The miniscule world of Ant-Man just got a whole lot bigger. Deadline reports that Lovecraft Country breakout star Jonathan Majors has been cast as the lead villain in Ant-Man 3. Majors will star alongside Paul Rudd, who plays the titular superhero, and Evangeline Lily, who plays Wasp. While the studio has yet to comment on which specific character Majors will play in the the upcoming sequel, sources “close to the project” say he will likely play Kang the Conqueror. The passing of Chadwick Boseman came as a shock not only because of his relatively young age, but because few people knew he had colon cancer. Even studio executives at Disney and Marvel, who you’d think would have been aware given the longterm contracts they had with Boseman, were kept out of the loop, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ‘Candyman’ Director Nia DaCosta Tapped For ‘Captain Marvel 2’

Nia DaCosta will direct the highly anticipated Captian Marvel 2, making her the first Black woman to direct a film for the studio. News first broke about the sequel in January before the coronavirus pandemic halted the film industry.
