Ana de Armas takes on Old Hollywood’s biggest star in Blonde, the Marilyn Monroe biopic hitting Netflix September 23rd. Take a look at the new trailer for the film below. Marilyn Monroe smiles while Norma Jeane sobs in the new teaser trailer for Blonde, the NC-17 biopic starring Ana de Armas. It arrives on Netflix September 23rd. The 66-second clip opens with Monroe in the green room, crying while receiving makeup. “Please come,” she whispers. “Don’t abandon me.” The teaser ends a short time later in the same spot, as she practices her winningest smile. In between, we see colorized snapshots of the world’s biggest movie star striding down the red carpet or striking a pose on the silver screen, as well as more black and white imagery as she wraps her arms around herself and pushes through a crowd. Kim Kardashian spurred some Internet ire when she wore Marilyn Monroe’s dress to the 2022 Met Gala, especially after it was revealed that she couldn’t really fit in the invaluable dress in the first place. Now, it looks like those concerns may have been warranted, because the iconic garment appears to be damaged following the event. The Marilyn Monroe Collection posted before-and-after photos of Monroe’s dress, a Jean Louis design that she wore while singing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy in 1962, to Instagram. In the days leading up to the Met Gala, Reddit sleuths predicted Kim Kardashian would wear a form-fitting dress made famous by Marilyn Monroe. On Monday night, Kardashian proved them right by walking the red carpet in a historic gown worn by the Hollywood icon. Worn by Monroe on May 19th, 1962 while singing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden, the Jean Louis-designed dress originally cost $12,000 and was so tight Monroe had to be sewn into it prior to her performance. In November 2016, the sparkling flesh-colored gown was acquired from Julien’s Auctions by Ripley’s for a record-setting $4.8 million.
