Here at SportsLens the writers got together to create our Ultimate FPL team for the 2022/23 season. After a lot of deliberation and overcoming fan bias, here’s the team we went with. Goalkeeper Allison – Liverpool – Price £5.5m Starting with the goalkeeper, Allison was a straightforward pick. Sharing the Golden Glove with Ederson and topping the FPL keepers table with 176 points, he will be looking to replicate last season and be a stable points earner for our team. Defense Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool – Price £7.5m Another player who was cemented in this team was Alexander-Arnold who scored a massive 208 points last season. Trent has been consistent for several seasons now so there is no worries about him producing the same form for the upcoming season. With Liverpool’s ...
With the Premier League season kicking off on Friday evening, there are so many narratives to consider, with last season’s title front-runners having further bolstered their squads, while the race for Champions League football is seemingly impossible to call. The annual BBC Premier League pundit predictions have been released, and it is safe to say the list is in stark contrast to last season. Following their fourth-placed finish in the 2020-21 season, all 20 participating experts wrote off Liverpool’s chances of winning the league. While they were indeed correct in their predictions, just two had them down to finish as runners-up; former Reds players Mark Lawrenson and Danny Murphy. See below for the full top four prediction list for 2022/23. Jurgen Klopp’s side were ferocious in their pu...
Manchester United left-back Alex Telles has joined La Liga side Sevilla on a season-long loan who will also cover the player’s wages. The Brazilian joined the Red Devils in late 2020, and went on to make 50 appearances for the club including four in the Champions League where he scored a stunning volley against Villarreal in the group stages. A whole host of Europe’s elite clubs have been heavily linked with a move for the game’s greatest goalscorer, although suggestions that Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG were interested have been quickly dismissed by each club. More recently however, there have been ru...
