Two ‘criminals’ lynched in Benue
Two suspected criminals including a motorcycle thief and an alleged cultist have been lynched in two separate incidences in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. Newsmen gathered that the suspected motorcycle thief was killed on Friday night after he allegedly snatched a commercial motorcycle from its owner around Demekpe area of the metropolis. Benue governor decries murder of security aide
The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has condemned the assassination of his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Christopher Dega (rtd), describing it as a huge blow to his administration and the entire state. Residents, particularly housewives in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, have lamented the increase in prices of food items. A survey conducted by NAN on Tuesday in Makurdi showed that prices of food items have been increasing on a daily basis. Many housewives interviewed by newsmen said that feeding their families has now become very difficult as the prices of essential food items have multiplied in the past few months.
