Madison Square Garden tapped Foo Fighters to headline its first full-capacity concert since the beginning of the pandemic. Now, that soon-to-be legendary gig will be all the more special because the band has decided to dedicate it to Andy Pollard, their late stage manager. Pollard passed away early in the morning of June 18th. He served as Foo Fighters’ stage manager for a whopping 12 years, during which he helped bring countless tours to life and made sure each detail went safely to plan. According to Pollard’s Linkedin, he also managed acts like Nine Inch Nails, Beck, Arcade Fire, Tenacious D, and Kings of Leon over the past 20 years, in addition to helming the lighting crew for Arctic Monkeys, Bjork, Iggy Pop, and countless others. “We are shocked and devastated by this loss. We can’t i...
“I don’t love that [Phil] supports all these right wing causes, but his political beliefs are so far detached from the work we do and our company values,” explains one high ranking executive, who notes that despite being very conservative, Anschutz supports LGBT causes and has given millions to groups some describe as being left of center. Employees at Liberty Media, which owns SiriusXM, Pandora and a 35% stake in Live Nation, for the first time ever have given more money to Democratic candidates than Republican ones. In 2020, individuals at the company gave $209,374 to Democrats and $92,485 to Republicans — more than a 2-1 margin. Back in 2016, Democrats only received $134,636 while $385,700 was spent on Republican candidates, while in 2012, only $12,500 was spent on Democrats with ...
As the coronavirus crisis stretches onwards, Billy Joel has announced that he won’t return to his monthly Madison Square Garden concerts until November 5th, 2021. They were initially supposed to take place between March 19th and August 3rd, and were already pushed back once already, to take place from September 26th through February 3rd, 2021. Well, that plan proved too optimistic. Now Joel is giving health officials plenty of time to roll out a vaccine before he tries again; those same six concerts will run from 2021 to 2022 starting on Friday, November 5th, and continuing through Monday, December 20th, Friday, January 14th, Saturday, February 12th, Thursday, March 24th, and finishing on Friday, April 8th...
