HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Alexander Tamargo / Getty Machine Gun Kelly is one of Hip-Hop’s most eclectic figures. The “Bad Things” rapper/actor is working to become a fashion icon. But this week, MGK lashed out at critics of his eclectic style. The clapback came after MGK shared a picture rocking a shiny silver suit with silver accessories, and David Bowie-inspired silver eye makeup for Fashion Week. He captioned the photo, “i call this: if jules from euphoria went to milan.” The picture garnered mixed comments with some fans supporting, while others remembered the rapper’s former fashion flow. “Lace up Mgk would have neverrrr worn makeup .. smh i get high fashion but u dont need eyeshadow on mannn,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Nah this ain’t fashion.” The Cleveland ...
Machine Gun Kelly loves The Office just as much as you do — so much so that the “Papercuts” singer showed up to the 2022 AMAs red carpet on Sunday with Michael Scott’s “World’s Best Boss” mug (content unknown) and gushed about his love of the program while chatting with Billboard‘s correspondent kenzie. After noticing MGK’s mug, kenzie asked the rock star who his favorite character on the show was, and he has such an appreciation of the show that he was unable to pick just one person. “I like Oscar, I like Kevin, I like Kelly, I like Erin, I like Andy, I like Dwight — I love Dwight — love Michael Scott, love Pam, love Jim. Pretty much who walked into that office, I love,” he said. The conversation then pivoted to the recent release of Machine Gun Kelly’s latest movie, Taurus. In the semi-a...
“Do you think rock stars are special people?” That’s the question that kicks off the trailer for Taurus, the upcoming music industry drama starring Machine Gun Kelly. In the video, released Thursday (Oct. 27), the musician otherwise known as Colson Baker plays Cole, a depressed musician on the verge of self-destructing amid his seemingly glamorous L.A. lifestyle. As the events of the trailer get increasingly bleak, Kelly’s character begins writing new music. “I want it to sound far from everything,” he says while seated at the piano with a female collaborator. “Like everything’s upside down.” The untitled song that then plays over the second half of the trailer finds the Mainstream Sellout singer intoning, “Life imitates art/ Bury me alive/ Disappear underground where they found me/ Before...
Last year, WILLOW went pop-punk with the release of lately I feel EVERYTHING, which featured Travis Barker, Avril Lavigne and more. Today, the young star announced that her next studio album, <COPINGMECHANISM>, will be released on Sept. 23. It was produced by WILLOW and Chris Greatti (YUNGBLUD, Pussy Riot). From that album, WILLOW has shared a video for “hover like a GODDESS.” In the clip, she roils beneath pink, blue and white strobe lights, as close-up camera angles shift between her face, black platform lace-up boots and a gleaming statement necklace. [embedded content][embedded content] “You know I don’t like to take my time” she cries out with Hayley Williams-esque vigor. “I’ll never be fine if you won’t be fine.” The song is a nod to self-worth. “Every woman deser...
Machine Gun Kelly sold out Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night and had quite the, well, bloody time celebrating at the afterparty. In a video shared to the pink-haired artist’s Instagram, he’s seen giving a speech to a crowded room before suddenly saying, “Bro, I don’t give a sh–” and shattering an empty champagne glass directly on his face. “And this is when things turned…” he captioned the disturbing clip, while in the next Story he performs his hit single “My Ex’s Best Friend” with blood running down his face, singing, “You know my ex, so that makes it all feel complicated, yeah/ I read those texts that you sent to yours/ But I’ll never say it, yeah” as people in the crowd try to hand him towels to stop the bleeding. Elsewhere during the party, Kelly hit the stage with Avril Lavigne ...
Mick Jagger, a fan of Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud? You better believe it. In a new interview with radio station P4 (via The Independent), the Rolling Stones singer praised the two artists who have become firebrands. “You have Yungblud and Machine Gun Kelly. That kind of post-punk vibe makes me think there is still a bit of life in rock and roll.” Continuing, the rocker said that “in rock music you need energy and there have not been a lot of new rock singers around. Now there are a few.” Bet you didn’t have that on your 2022 Bingo card, eh? As for Stones news, Jagger said don’t expect the band to throw in the towel any time soon. The band will embark on their 60th anniversary European Tour that kicks off on June 1 in Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium (home of Atlético Madrid) “I am ...
