Despite the global efforts to end preventable newborn deaths by 2030, through the Sustainable Development Goal 3.2, experts have raised the alarm that Nigeria loses over 250,000 babies yearly due to preventable and treatable causes, even as the country ranks second highest globally in infant deaths. The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the discharge of 13 more Coronavirus patients who recovered from the virus. A 33-year-old coronavirus patient has been delivered of a baby boy at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba. This was contained in a statement on Friday by LUTH Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Prof Wasiu Adeyemo. He assured that both mother and son were doing well.
