APC states to implement Security Trust Fund to address insecurity
In a bid to fight the increasing wave of insecurity in the country, All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled states are to strengthen the legal framework for the implementation of the Security Trust Fund (STF) by member States. This decision was reached at the 12th Quarterly meeting of Secretaries to Government of APC states in conjunction with the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital. The communique, jointly signed by the Nasarawa State Secretary to Government, Barr. Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu and the Director-General of PGF, Salihu Moh. Police nab welder for killing friend in Lokoja
A 32-year-old man simply identified as Murtala Dare, has been arrested by police in Lokoja for allegedly killing his friend during a scuffle. Spokesman of the Police Command in Kogi, DSP William Aya, told newsmen on Monday in Lokoja that the suspect was arrested at a hideout in the early hours of Monday. Aya said that Dare, a welder, killed his friend, Lukman, at Jackies area in Lokoja at about 9 p.m. on Aug. 16. According to him, Dare and Lukman were hanging out in the area alongside other fun seekers when an argument led to an exchange of blows between the two friends. However, Dare was said to have overpowered Lukman, smashed him to the ground and brought out a knife with which he was said to have slaughtered his friend. PGF chief: Femi Fani-Kayode’s botched defection an attempt to manipulate APC leadership

Lukman has said the recent attempt to accept Chief Femi Fani-Kayode into the fold of the All Progressives Congress APC was a clear attempt by some partisans to manipulate the leadership of the ruling party into doing the wrong thing.
