Celebrate a Decade of Brownies & Lemonade With Their Massive “10 for 10” Megamix

Celebrating a decade of groundbreaking events, Brownies & Lemonade has released a specially curated megamix. B&L tells us they asked their “most important artists over the last decade” to create 10-minute mixes. The brand then integrated each to produce “10 for 10,” a massive mix spanning over 100 tracks that defined the last decade for EDM.com’s Best Event Organizer of 2022. Beloved in the electronic dance music community for their curation of once-in-a-lifetime, creator-driven experiences—like Wonderland’s laundromat rave and Holo’s elevator pop-up—B&L soared to new heights this year. In order to meet the moment, B&L sought the help of Alison Wonderland, Louis The Child, GRiZ, Madeon, ISOxo, Jai Wolf, Wuki, What So Not, Wax Motif an...

Louis The Child Shift Gears With Black Marble Alias, a “Dark, Clubby, Gritty” Audiovisual Experience

Creativity is boundless for Louis The Child. Some fans may associate them with a glossy dance-pop style meshed with future bass, a sound made popular by hit tracks like “It’s Strange” and “Better Not.” But there’s more than meets the eye with Louis The Child. If their rave-inspired headline performance at Red Rocks last year was any indication, genres are fluid. They’re meant to be traversed across rather than confined within. Louis The Child’s latest event, Alter-Ego, took that idea up a notch. By inviting artists to perform sets exploring left-field tastes, Alter-Ego materialized an unabashed focus on defying genres. A sprawling crowd at Louis The Child’s sold-out Alter-Ego show at Brooklyn Mirage. Drew Cigna “We like the idea of giving artists a platform to do somethin...

Got any weekend plans? Because What So Not casually wants to DJ in your living room. The electronic music virtuoso, who has graced the towering stages of many of the world’s biggest festivals, has announced a contest for one fan to win a private DJ set. He’s essentially throwing a dart at a map and planning to perform at a random house party hosted by one lucky fan who pre-saves his upcoming album, Anomaly. “Wanna host the most infamous house party to ever hit your town?” What So Not asked in an Instagram post. “I’ll be going anywhere in the world (yes, anywhere) to DJ someone’s house party to celebrate my album coming out in exactly one month.” You can pre-save Anomaly here. Louis The Child Announce Genre Defying “Alter-Ego” Takeover at Brooklyn Mirage

We’re tuned to expect specific sounds from our favorite artists. Go to an Excision show and you’re getting an abundance of ground-shaking bass and dubstep growls. Seeing Armin van Buuren entails a bright mix of progressive house and trance. But once in a while, major artists surprise us with stark deviations from their established sounds, like Dillon Francis trading his moombahton style for deep house or deadmau5 eschewing his signature electro flair in favor of obscure, pulsing techno under his TESTPILOT moniker. It’s rare to see an event dedicated to artists exploring their left-field tastes though—something Louis The Child hope to change with their latest event concept, “Alter-Ego,” a multi-stage takeover of the Brooklyn Mirage. “We wanted to create an event where artists ar...
